693 posts and you're just now welcoming me???

Whether it was in jest or not, it was dumb. I did not smack back, so no one got the exact reaction they wanted. I gave simple facts.

And again, it is sad that this game is not going to be on national tv for the first time since 2001. The MAC is in a sad state of affairs. The leaders of the MAC, not just the past commish, have destroyed this conference, mainly in basketball and football. It's really sad.
It was not meant to be a cerebral assessment of the situation, but merely a joke made at the expense of our bitter rival. And a damned funny one if you must know.
It was still dumb, even if a joke. If you're gonna joke or smack, at least make it good. You know, any like those stupid lightning things on the pants of our uniforms, the two straight losses to you guys, or even the Amstutz ate another buffet (ALL OF IT!!!!!!!!) type of jokes.

But oh well, we probably won't be rivals much longer anyway. Between the financial issues at BG that could cause the University to drop athletics to DII or the considerations of dropping football all together at UT because of a lack of defense.....................
I love it when comedy just writes itself!

Talking to a lady at the library today and she asked if I was ready for the big game Saturday- I said it was a week from Friday. Went on in this vein for awhile and she looked very perplexed- finally said "Well, you sound awfully certain- I'll have to tell my husband- he thinks its Saturday."

I'm coming to the UT game from the DAYTON area, as we're spending Thanksgiving with my stepdaughter's in laws... my wife refuses to give up the Friday,as she feels it's still a FAMILY thing... I don't have a problem with a Friday game personally, but I can understand the logic...what I DON"t understand is the non-TV factor of this rivalry, and despite neither team having an outstanding record, it's still the biggest rivalry game in the MAC...that alone should make it "viewer worthy", but ESPN obviously doesn't agree...

And finally, I have to agree with most of you..the weeknite games have lost whatever luster they had at the beginning. I mentioned that my two out of state brothers watched the UB game...but it's like me watching Cincy on the weeknite game...it's my brother's alma mater, so I had more interest, not to mention the Cincy record this year....a full stadium has a profound recruiting influence I'd think, compared to 8-10K that the MAC seems to be drawing for these games.

We have had good crowds in the past on the day after Thanksgiving, though I can understand why it is a tough day.

I'm not realy pissed though.

Yes, we were I-AA for part of a season.

2pm, no TV.

I give ESPN credit for having a current schedule up for us, that's about it.
