What's all that BG stuff doing on the endtable? Are you pretending to be a Falcon fan or something?

The whole Space Ghost comparison thing is kind of lame IMO.

Yes, triangular eyes... ooooooooh, ok. Wow, maybe our logo IS Space Ghost. I'm surprised we haven't been sued yet!

I think the "new" logo is completey unique in the world of sports and marketing. It's totally recognizable and a great mark. It's not going away anytime soon either.

I would say the space ghost references are more on par than the ones that claim Miami RedHawks- ours is nearly completely an abstract logo while the Hawk is a more realistic look:

Its interesting that these pillows with the retail mark are available here in BG. My sister, who attends Baldwin-Wallace in Berea, was at a mall in the greater Cleveland area, and saw the same pillow but with the traditional Falcon head. It was at one of those kiosks they set up in the middle of the malls. Odd they aren't available around here or online or ebay. . .

Retail logo is too generic.

It's almost like seeing Freddie and Frieda go cartoonish on us. Over time I'm sure I will learn to like the logo, but like I mentioned to Grant earlier, the retail one just looks ticked off and ready to kill. I'm just not too fond of it yet but I think I might pick up one of these pillows anyways. If I sleep on it, maybe it will "grow" on me overnight :P

McMetz:

Funny you should mention Freddy & Freida ... as usual, I was wearing my "old school" button at the GMAC bowl ("I'm a Member ... Freddy's Friends") and a former Freida saw it. She commented how much more she liked the old costumes and expressed regret that there wasn't more input about the change.

Guess I'm just an old fuddy-duddy ... I like the old Falcon logo (with the white in the middle) and the old Freddy costume.

Where did you get the busby?

I'm still trying to get my DM uni from the band dept. I'm afraid they may be all gone.

GENERIC?!?!?! *sigh* Where the heck do you people live where there are multi-colored abstract falcon heads on every corner? Is Philadelphia that wacked out Karl?? Come on...GENERIC?!

You can not like the logo, but you can NOT convince me it's generic.

I got it at a shop in Grand Rapids, OH... they had a room full of old unis. I have a snazzy orange band blazer as well! ;-) I may be wearing it to the Alumni A-band games if I can work up the nerve!!

Nor will I try to. The logo thing is like politics - people have staked out their positions and are unlikely to be moved. I think the "retail" Falcon looks like a lot of stylized logos. The logo (and the one on the helmets now) is much more distinctive, though less stylized.

But that's why Baskin Robbins makes 31 flavors...

I just got back to the office after hitting the dtown store and SBX (we had mini-AZZ tailgate at SBX as we ran into Dayon and Marta). I almost bought that pillow. I ultimately voted "nay" on the question because my head is waaay bigger than that

The old logo/new logo split reminds me of the Judean People's front/People's front of Judea row in Monty Python's Life of Brian

Who's getting crucified?
