Well, I expect Clawson to lower the boom on him.

All programs have incidents, the key is how they are handled.

He pleaded not guilty....perhaps we should let this shake out before we "lower the boom"? You want to hold the kid out of team functions until the matter clears? I wouldn't have a problem with that, but I wouldn't throw him off the team entirely...

As unfortunate as this is, if it is true, it would not surprise me at all. I have had many interactions with Alvarado and not one of them has ever been positive. He is just a punk that thinks he is the best there is. If he did indeed use physical force and injured a female I will have lost the little respect I did have for him. But, for his sake, I hope he is not guilty...

Good call, Flip. I shouldn't jump to conclusions.

You wouldn't think someone who was named to the national honor roll in HS would be the kind of person to do this but I guess its more proof you judge a book by its cover.

Well, when women are involved men seem to lose all sorts of intelligence.

Who's Who is one of the biggest scams out there. They can call it a National Honor Roll but all you have to do is be nominated and you are in. Who nominates you? A teacher, a guidance counselor, a coach, a minister, a youth pastor, the barista at Starbucks, a dancer at the Jiggly Room, basically anybody that wants to.

Any high school students that read these forums: SAVE YOUR MONEY. Don't buy any of the junk they want to sell you if you are in Who's Who.

While all that is true from my personal experience, let's be fair to Kevin. He was a four year honor roll member in High School and graduated with honors.

The Sentinel-Tribune article referenced Who's Who and that is what I am referring to. I'm not saying anything about Kevin because I don't know him.

Smart kids do stupid things, too. As mentioned, he pleaded not guilty, so let's practice a little restraint.

If it IS true, this would be still another D- lineman who's gotten into major trouble over past 2 yrs. One guy doing and selling drugs, two guys in a breaking and entering arrest (remember, one was the son of a deputy sheriff).

Doesn't look ... or sound good to me.

In the home invasion case two players (Barrow and Lewis) plead guilty and one (Jacob Hardwick) was acquitted. In the drug case, Melvin Cole plead guilty and Loren Hargrove had his charges dropped when Cole admitted that the drugs were his and his alone (Hargrove was duped into transportingt he drugs...a possibility I mentioned at the time of his arrest :-) )

Not saying Alvarado is guilty or innocent...just trying to point out that arrest does not always = guilt.

Flip, I wasn't referring to Cole... but another D-lineman (Ream), who'd been in trouble with Brandon a couple of yrs ago, if you recall, finally got back on the team, was expected to be our most experienced if not best D-lineman this year.
