It would be just my luck that we end up at the Humanitarian Bowl. Ordinarily I'd hope, pray and love for BG to get that bid. However, that's during the same week I'm coming home to visit family for x-mas. What did I do to piss off the football Gods so?

If Stuart Mandel is correct, how would you like to be running the Pizza Bowl? Going from potential CMU/Notre Dame to Temple/Middle Tennessee.

I don't blame the GMAC for wanting to go that route -- tough to sell a Jan 6 bowl game. Holidays are over, people are back to work, kids are back in school.

What I don't understand is why send Northern Illinois to DC and Temple to Detroit? It would seem that to maximize ticket sales, they'd do the opposite.

So if we end up in this game, any chance the alumni association would charter a trip out to Boise? I'd like to go, but I just think it might end up being too expensive.

Depends, it could happen, but if the matchup isn't good, I don't know if they'd be able to fill a plane.

Actually, I think a BG vs Idaho would be one hell of a game. I don't know exactly how the key match ups would work off the top of my head, but it would be a game I'd pay to see.

Sounds like Boise,ID is the front runner for our bowl. DC is most likely out. Detrioit and Canada lay somewhere in the middle.

Mark,
Just for the heck of it, I did some quick, but not thorough, searching on net..for planetix + hotel to Boise, from Cleveland... Round figures? About $1500 for two people, leaving on the 29th, returning on the 31st... NOT good..but I'd be interested inseeing what the alum.Assoc. could do, even if I had to drive to Toledo to catch a plane.

the pay out per team is 750k.
750k divided among all the mac...would be very COSTLY.

Hello, Falcons! Idaho Vandal here!

I understand your travel concerns if you get the H-Bowl. We felt the same way when they talked about us in the GMAC, though I would gladly travel to Alabama to watch a game where it's warm!

I think you guys are right about getting a following with the local broncs that hate us that much, though I know some Broncos will support us as their fellow WAC team. There are Vandals that go to the H-Bowl every year to freeze their rears off and cheer on the WAC team, even when that team was Boise State...

If we do end up playing each other, I look forward to seeing those of you that can make the trip out!

Thanks for the post JollyVandal, Nice to hear from the possible opposition. Boise fans will be our main support in Boise. I sure as heck no I cant afford to go out there unless I start up a LowryFalcon to boise fund. The closest ill be is in the comfort of my nice warm house watching the game. It would be cool to play int he H-Bowl against the Vandals as it will be the first time (i believe) that our programs will play each other. Best of luck to ya and like always, GO FALCONS!

No, plane tix aren't cheap. However for those looking to save on hotel rooms, I can't say enough about hotwire.com. I've been them almost exclusively for a few years now, and I havn't been disappointed. I've used them several times now for a night/weekend in downtown Boise, and have had very nice hotel rooms for between 40-60% off the regular price. It works great! The only caveat is that you don't know the actual hotel until after you book. I just did a quick search for 29-31 and found several rooms for between $40 and $50 a night on two and half and three star hotels. I seriously recommend them to anyone looking for a hotel room.

emailing the bowl, to let them know you will travel and hope they seriously consider BG, can't hurt...UVA did this a few years back for Music City Bowl (which GT deserved, they got sent to Idaho though), strong email campaign through the UVA board. They may have already made their decision, but maybe not, worth a shot: http://www.eaglebankbowl.org/about-us/contact-us/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
