Size wise they match-up pretty well with us. THeir runingbacks ar eall 5-9 and 5-8. But their receovers are big...6'6", 6'4" and 6' 3". Linebackers and line are pretty similar in size to us.

Seems the Vandals have a bit of little brother syndrome. The thread "It is BOWLING GREEN" is slamming Boise State more so than a discussion of the Idaho Vandals and their trip to a bowl game.
Hey, I wouldn't exactly call it slamming! :) Most of the posters feel BSU and TCU got the shaft in that deal.
They sure did get the shaft. I agree 100%

Thanks for bringing up a painful memory. Why not just give us a collective paper cut and pour some lemon juice on it?

Oddly enough, I'm watching the Vandals' hoops team destroy #25 Portland right now. Cool old gym they've got. Very Epplerish with a heavy dose of Cameron Indoor.

That's Memorial Gym. Built in 1912 or thereabouts. It's beautiful, but not a hoops arena! We normally play basketball in Cowan Spectrum, which is set up in our Kibbie Dome, where we play football. This year the football team needs the Kibbie for practice, so bball is stuck in Mem Gym. We have an absolutely crazy facilities problem. The facilities forum on our board is hilarious...

Nope, looks like black and gold or silver.

Don't you mean their colors are "pasty" and "bleached?"

We were making several jokes about the "church auditorium-ness" of the place until I went to your website and saw some pics. Love the gargoyles!!!

Later found out it was Craig Ehlo doing color commentary... interesting.

Just saw this is a 4:30 kick. That could make for a rough evening. :drinkers:

I think it should be a good game and I'm thrilled that this team earned a bowl trip (and a chance to visit a different bowl), but it just seems sort of... bleh.

What I really love is that it's a great date for a bowl game. Not so early in the season that no one's paying attention, but not in the GMAC/International Bowl slot of being a three-hour commercial for the next day's BCS bowl.

Plus, I don't have to work that day (or the next three), so if we put up another performance like our last bowl, the fridge is a short walk away. :drinkers:
We're thrilled too! Last year we were 2-10, and the year before that we were 1-11, with basically the same team (most were starters as fresh and sophs), so we are so proud of and happy for our guys! They've been through a lot and have worked inredibly hard.

Some of us were actually hoping to get the GMAC because 1. it's played in neutral territory and on green turf, 2. the Jan. 6 date gives us more time to get our QB healthy, and 3. it's a bit warmer! We're stoked just to be in a bowl, though!

Temp is currently 21 degrees in Boise. It could be warmer in BG for gameday.

A quick check finds Cincinnati the cheapest ($497) and then Detroit (just over $500).

Columbus and Dayton next and Cleveland costing the most.

Sure would love to know the hotel so I could try some packaging.
