Well, we've come to expect no less from certain posters. Our team, that had been struggling a bit, just beat a top-15 opponent on the road. I'll go ahead and choose not to complain about how they did it.

Agreed. Following the game via text updates, I just knew there were going to be reactions like that, but hey, we've got to be used to that by now, right?

Anyway, congrats to the team on a fantastic win. This will go a long way to build confidence and impress the selection committee.

Agreed, I want pretty wins when they matter, when that MAC schedule starts. I'll take an ugly win OOC, on the road, and against a ranked team everyday of the week.

So Coach Miller should just throw the game tape away and not even address not being able to hold big leads and not point out our mistakes in the second half?

No one is complaining about a great victory over a top 25 opponent on the road. It was a huge win for the program. I just think this team does need to get a little tougher mentally. This current junior class (Pontius, Prochaska, Uhl, Zuercher, Albert) has gone 26-8 and 29-5 the last two years and lost in the MAC tourney finals...and haven't made the NCCA Tourney. They haven't been able to close things out.

The class before them (Allie, Liz, Carin, etc.) were the ultimate menatlly tough team. This team needs to develop a little of that attitude. Hopefully this game can be the impetus for that.

Our sesason goals aren't just to win the MAC and go to the WNIT. Been there, done that. Coach Miller would be the first to admit that. Not being satisfied with a conference championship and just any post season play shows just how far this great program has come.

So let's not call out those of us that want to see this team keep improving.

I wasn't calling you out - you tend to make calm, salient points and back them up. I was calling out king douchebag - we all know who that is.

Of course we can keep improving, but it's impossible for a mentally weak team to win a game like this. You think it's easy to have a game in hand, have the other team come all the way back and take the lead in the closing minutes, and still beat a top-15 on the road? We honestly are going to say a team that does that isn't mentally tough?

I, the noted pessimist, see last night's game as a sign this team might have mature to the point where they are learning to close things out. I see it as a great sign this team might be similar to the one that beat Vandy a few years ago to get to the Sweet 16. Just because a very good team turned the heat up on us and made a run in the second half, doesn't mean we're not mentally tough. #14 teams make runs like that at home. They force turnovers, and they make teams look silly. It was an incredible performance to fight through that and get the win.

Just to be clear, by commenting last night that this was only a great game to watch because of our unforced errors, I only intended to point out that we were so dominant that Vanderbilt didn't make it a close game - we did. Personally, I see that as evidence of just how good this team truly is, and what their potential can be. We completely shut down a nationally ranked opponent on the road. Absolutely amazing.

I think Coach Miller and his staff will do what they have done in the past...work as hard as any staff in the country to make this team as good as they can be. I didn't read anyone say anything about the coaching staff throwing out the game tapes. I expect they will continue to work on correcting the weaknesses and maintaining the strengths of the team. But, I am not the coach, so I will enjoy the win and look forward to seeing the team improve as the year goes on.

You missed the point entirely. The game tape reference was an analogy. Meaning, even though it was a great win, we still have some things we need to address. I guess it was a bad analogy if I have to expalin it to you. There was also a little sarcasm mixed in there as well.

So lets recap...analogy and sarcasm...nothing at all that questioned our great coaching staff.

Oh, I got the sarcasm... and you are right, it was a poor analogy.

Now, on to the rest of the road trip...a good opportunity to build on that mental toughness.

Great win for the coaching staff and the team.

Thank you for locating PUSHING in the rule book.

But BourbonFalcon wanted OVER THE BACK called. Where in the rule book is that foul?

Punching in the face is not in the rule book either but, alas, it is a foul.....semantics.
