I'm with you factman, and I have stated as much a couple times on this board. Pankratz will, I'm sure, be given every opportunity to win the job, but I don't necessarily think he's even the favorite. For instance, I would not be surprised if a coach were to say that he's truly the #3 guy this year, but they didn't want to lose Schilz's redshirt.

Between Schilz and the two true freshmen, one of whom will be here this spring, I would not be surprised in the least if Pankratz is beaten out for the starting job. I fully expect Clawson's recruits will better suit what he wants in a QB than Brandon's recruit.

Agreed...Schilz isn't just a Clawson recruit...he was tied to Ruggiero at Kansas State when he was the QB coach and Schilz had committed there. When you're brought into a program by the OC...you have to think you have a leg up on the guy who was a holdover.

If Watkins does indeed come in early...it should make for an interesting spring.
It's not the fall that hurts...it's when you hit the ground.

9-11 @ Western Kentucky
9-18 Marshall
9-25 @ Michigan
11-13 @ Troy
All that info comes from nationalchamps.net, so it probably hasn't been updated anytime soon, knowing that sites track record.

The @Troy, @Maryland, @Michigan, and home vs Marshall games and dates that were posted on here earlier have been in our games notes all season, I trust it more then anything from nationalchamps.net

If we pull off the upset in Ann Arbor, I'm pretty confident that Rich Rod gets canned.

WKU's website reflects us as one of their OOC oponents in 2010.

I think the reason everyone is giving the job to Pankratz is based on the fact that he his wearing the head gear for most of the games...hes a prototype with his size but who knows Schilz could also snag the job and this kid from Pittsburgh is getting alot of hype over here in PA... also prototype size.

PS... how about Gradkowski showin the Steelers whatup?

This was in today's ST:

BG's scheduled game with Maryland in 2010 has been changed. The Falcons are now scheduled to play Maryland in 2015 and 2016. Christopher said Maryland's spot on the schedule will probably be filled with a road game. Also on the schedule in 2010 are games at Troy and Michigan and a home game with Marshall.

That stinks as I really liked the idea of a matchup with Maryland next year, thought it could have been a good chance to add another win against a BCS team to our resume. Maybe that WKU will be moving back up next year. I'm curious to see what happens

What about Tanski in that mix? He's a hell of a good passer, great player and leader as proved by being Mr. Football 2007, just doesn't have the size. Would that be a severe detriment in the Clawfense? Or ... does Tanski maybe have Wildcat QB in his future? He was a dangerous running threat in HS along with being an excellent passer ... just a thought.

I am guessing Maryland decided they are going to suck next year and didn't want to lose to BG so they are probably adding an FCS team to their schedule. So they are trading a loss to BG with a loss to an FCS team. Whatever. I was really looking forward to this game. I have a buddy who is a Maryland season ticket holder and I was making plans to be at this game. I guess I have a few years to wait.

Man, that stinks. Maryland is a bottom of the barrel BCS team, we'd likely be favored in that contest, or at worst be even money. The time was right to beat them. Oh well. If our opponent does turn out to be WKU, that should be a cinch.

The QB battle will be very intense and exciting. We have some real studs in here to compete for the job and it will make them all better for it.

But before that, we have one more with Tyler at the controls and I wanna see him top 4,000 yards passing this year.
