The thing that jumps right out at me with this class is the number of guys from outside of Ohio this time around. I like it. In recent years our classes have seemed very in-state heavy. Now I'm not saying recruiting just Ohio kids is a bad thing by any means, that's not my point at all. I mean it's just very nice to not only see our recruiting efforts from outside of Ohio, but to also see kids from outside of the state coming in. It's good to see us able to stretch out from just Northwest Ohio, or just in Ohio, to get some of these kids with this class.
I also noticed at the end of the article it said BG will open with Louisville of the SEC, but the Cardinals are in the Big East. BG does play at SEC member Kentucky the following weekend however. And in fact, the Falcons will also play a three-game series at Eastern Kentucky too. Lots of time in Kentucky.

I think the person writing the article need to find a good proofreader. He has been criticized in this forum previously! There have been a number of other mistakes in the baseball articles!
Re: Baseballl announces signing class
This seems like a good start to replacing a pretty big graduating class. Obviously the coaching staff isn't afraid to go after out of state kids. I saw the SS from Cincy play this summer. He is really good defensively and got a couple of hits. Not sure if he will have much power, but he will be a good addition to the lineup.
I'm really looking forward to this season. The team is getting some pitcher's back from injury and should have a pretty good lineup again. They should have a good shot a contending again.
Oh.....does anyone know when the dugouts are getting put in??? I've heard that they are getting them for a couple years now, but I drove by the other day and they are still the same. If there is a team on campus that deserves a renovation, it is definately the baseball team (not counting women's bball because they are getting the stroh).

Re: Baseballl announces signing class
I would be nice to have a locker room too! Does anyone know what the bidding process is for a project like this? This is ALL private funds for the dugout project, so why would it have to be put out for bid? It's a loooooong story, but it would be very advantageous if they went with a "local" company rather than some upstart from a distance away. The delays for this project are
. They have spent about as much on studies, plans and time as the entire project costs!
Re: Baseballl announces signing class
All projects have to be bid upon due to state laws.

Hopefully they find a way to get them done. The season is right around the corner. GO FALCONS!!!!
