My vote has to go to the WBB win to advance to the Sweet 16. Incredible game, incredible season, amazing players, and a one-of-a-kind accomplishment in our conference.

I think the donation for the Stroh Center deserves consideration as well. Biggest donation in school history, brand new arena after 50 years of Anderson.

My sentiments exactly, Peregrinner. I think another 'event' that might be added to the list is President Cartwright's administrative decision to fully back the hockey program. Sure, it is isn't a competitive win, but it is a significant moment in the history of an historic program. I'm too tired to put a list together right now, but I did want to throw that one out into the intertubes.

It's like they know that a good first pass on the breakout from a defenseman will almost always result in an odd-man rush against them - but they go in anyway and dare you to make that pass. All three of their goals were just grit and effort. That's a team any fan can be proud to support...they give all they've got."

I know those two sports haven't been with us for way longer than a decade. Actually, I didn't think BGSU ever had varsity men's gymnastics?!?!?!? I know Kent State did, but I could be wrong about BG.

A decade is any period of ten years. Since no one really gives a s**t about referring to the earliest decades in the same way we do today, people typically group decades from 0-9 (1980's=1980-1989, etc). Though, 1976 to 1985 would still be a decade.

For instance, if I were to say "The last decade of my great-grandmother's life was spent in a nursing home", that would be whatever dates match up from her death to 10 years before that. In this case the decade would've been 1999-2007.

The BGnews says the new decade begins 1/01/2010, so therefore it does.

Not that anyone really cares (myself included).

Actually, he says "the" decade ends on either 12/29/09 or 12/30/09 depending on whether he's counting the day he's writing the article as day 1. Granted there are many ways to figure this- Falcon Fanatic, for example, thinks decades include about twenty-five years of her own choosing, others stick with the more traditional ten years. But I do love your end logic- The BG News said it- it must be so. Did you read today's article that says for you to send me all your money?

1. Gameday comes to Bowling Green.
2. The threat to cut hockey.
3. Women's basketball advances to sweet 16.
4. 2009- Baseball team comes back from down 8-0 vs Akron to win their second consecutive MAC title and third of the decade.
5. Men's basketball wins regualar season 2000
6. Completion of Sebo Center.
7. Football beating Missouri in Urban's first game. (Remember, we were 2-9 the year before, no one knew for sure how Urban would work out)
8. Women's soccer wins MAC tournament titles
9. BG football advances to MAC title game in 2003 only to get smoked.
10.Softball wins MAC title.

I wouldn't include the Stroh Center because that will be done next decade. Other notable admissions: Freddie Barnes 2009 season, 2001 baseball leads nation in hitting with a .360 team average, Omar 41-4 season, Football wins GMAC and Motor City bowls,

How about the next year when we totally SMOKED 'em at home, 51-28? That was a fun day. ;)

Would that have been the first 'BCS' opponent we ever hosted?
