The Curse of the BLUE TURF
I think that should be our last shot trying to play any team out of Idaho! 80 friggen yards in less than 30 seconds says it all! Our D is so lazy it's not even funny! Did you see the lazy body language of the CB and Safety? If we had defensive athletes that would've been an easy knock down, but of course as I've seen in the last 10 years of players bewildered all to hell with plays as we all seen tonight. I don't blame "The Claw"; I blame the damn "D". What a bunch of lazy, non-caring slow azz athletes! This has to stop!

Hey- we are all upset that we lost. But these are student athletes that represent our university and our team with CLASS. And our Coach doesn't act like a clown.
But do we have a lot of room to improve...oh yes we do. That is why we buy tickets and come back year after year.
I appreciate the efforts of our seniors throughout their careers.

"Regarding BGSU, I would think their biggest strength is that they never give up, They never slow down and they battle hard even after the other team scores. We have to be on our game and never, ever take the foot off the gas for a second."

"BG was relentless. It's like they know that a good first pass on the breakout from a defenseman will almost always result in an odd-man rush against them - but they go in anyway and dare you to make that pass. All three of their goals were just grit and effort. That's a team any fan can be proud to support...they give all they've got."

Dude, there was no need to rip the D players like you did. That wasn't CLASSY. Cuz I'm sure you always made the tackle and never made a mistake...playing semi pro ball and all.CSUFalcon wrote:Please support your CLASSY reply. How good was your "D" back in the day! Re: The Curse of the BLUE TURF
This is the problem here. Did I say anything about the coaching staff? I blamed the "D" which is the proven fact of why we lost the darn game in the last 30 seconds of the game. If you can't see that, then you are totally in a illusionary funk. BGSU did great this year and I know we all would have loved to have seen a great bowl win, but that was negated by the lazy defensive play at the end of the game. If you don't believe me, just rewind the darn 2 point conversion. Delusion can really bring about a ton of stress in your life. I know that we are in a growing period and it will come with the good coaching and recruiting of "The Claw". Sorry if my post pissed you off because I can understand that you can't take out your frustrations other than pointing the finger at another poster to this forum. My comments won't change a thing and I know this, but you must realize that what I speak of is fact.

But one play doesn't win or lose a game, either. You should know that, right? Yeah, it sucks to lose like that but it was ONE play of many.

Re: The Curse of the BLUE TURF
As much as I hate to say, I agree with CSUFalcon, the performance by our Corners today was down right deplorable. Tyler and Freddie the rest of teh offense should be the most ticked. They put in all that work to get us back up and on top with 30 seconds left and we cant hold a team 80 yards with 30 seconds to go...are you kidding me?!
Good Luck Seniors, Thanks for everything you have meant to the University, especially Tylaer and Freddie! Congrats to Freddie on everything he accomplished this year.

Re: The Curse of the BLUE TURF
We could have won if the offensive blocking were better on that blocked field goal.
We could have won if we converted that 4th and 2 and scored.
We could have won if Idaho didn't start so many drives around the 40.
We could have won if Adrian Spencer knocked down that receiver on the 50+ yard pass play. (If he knocked the receiver down, it still would have been PI and a 15 yard penalty but the time would have been lost).
It didn't have to come down to the final seconds. It did, though, and that's what people will remember more than the blocked FG, 4th down mistake, starting position, or loophole in the rules.

Hello Rubber,
You do make a valid point with just one minor flaw. This is a game of inches and one play can make a difference. If you don't believe me, then check out the blocked field goal in the early stages of the game. Another contributing factor to our loss is; of course the bombed defensive play that was a huge factor in getting to the 2 point conversion. I'm stating facts and I love the hell out of my Falcons just like the next guy but if we can't face up to the fact that we have holes that needs correcting, then the problem will never be fixed. I know "The Claw" can see what I'm stating here and he will do everything in his power to change these flaws and it's in our "D". That was the only reason I stated what I did in this forum. I will admit that the truth sometimes will come across as unclassy, but at least someone here is passionate about their other favorite team. I shouldn't be degraded for that passion! Maybe there should be more of that passion going around in our fan base to show our love for the team even though some words will hurt.
Sorry if I offended any Brown and Orange fans! I'll stay on the sidelines.

That's cool Drunken,
Your name says it all! I thought classy was the operative wording here. Oh well. Go BGSU

Re: The Curse of the BLUE TURF
Spencer really struggled on that last drive, but I remember other BG CBs that got torched early in their careers and ended up being pretty good - Smith, Jordan, Lewis and Newson all took time to become good CBs. It's too bad that we lost the game that way, but some of the young DBs are going to be good in time.
