1-2 Minny, grrrrrrrrrrrrr

GO ICERS!!
"Regarding BGSU, I would think their biggest strength is that they never give up, They never slow down and they battle hard even after the other team scores. We have to be on our game and never, ever take the foot off the gas for a second."
~~USCHO Poster
"BG was relentless. It's like they know that a good first pass on the breakout from a defenseman will almost always result in an odd-man rush against them - but they go in anyway and dare you to make that pass. All three of their goals were just grit and effort. That's a team any fan can be proud to support...they give all they've got."

3-1 Final MN over BG!

Thoughts:
BG played a good game, controlled play, skated well on the big ice, had some big hits and good scoring chances. BG Dominated in faceoffs!

But: 1 goal against an offensive team like MN with good goaltending isnt gonna be enough and it showed tonight as BG failed to capitalize on scoring chances to put MN away!

I liked the new line combinations, hopefully as they get used to each other JST can elevate Perkin and Petruska's game and give us two scoring lines provided Solway and Dee keep up their end of things. Rodriguez seems like he'll be good fit with them.

Hammond looked great.

Cepis is still trying to do everything himself. That big ice in the WCHA is going to kill him unless he has Lance Armstrong's conditioning coach.
I love people who can laugh at themselves. It saves me the effort.

Good game for BGSU. Minnesota is a great team and the Falcons put a real scare into them.

The reality is we are a young team, and that is what seems to bite us in each game this year...the good news is we are only about two forwards away from getting it done, and with the development our guys this year and with what is coming next year we will have what we need. We will likely see shots on goal drop dramatically, and our production increase substantially.
We have a great base, I just feel badly for those SR. who stuck it out and are not getting the wins they work so hard for, on the other hand they must know they are playing key rolls in the foundation of the future, and that kind of sacrifice does not go unnoticed.

It wasn't pretty, but BG picks up the win 4-3.

Goals:
1st Period
1, BGS Kai Kantola/2 (Ian Ruel/2) 9:17
2, BGS Brennan Vargas/1 (Kyle Page/8, Cameron Sinclair/1) 14:43

2nd Period
3, CLK Matt Beca/9 (Louke Oakley/11) (SH) 6:58
4, CLK Scott Freeman/4 (Matt Beca/9, Corey Tamblyn/2) 13:53

3rd Period
5, BGS Kyle Page/2 (David Solway/8, James Perkin/5) (PP) 12:26
6, BGS Josh Boyd/3 (Unassisted) (EN) 18:46
7, CLK Bryan Rufenach/5 (Louke Oakley/12, Nick Tremblay/7) (EA) 19:51

Shots:
Clarkson 6-10-10=26
BGSU 7-6-8=21

We still haven't learned how to put teams away late but that breaks the 5 game losing streak.
