All 3 of those QBs are mid to late round draft prospects. All 3 are WAY ahead of Sheehan in terms of prospect status. I'm really looking forward to watching this game to see Skelton. He's a big kid with one of the strongest arms in the draft. If he shows any accuracy and ability in a pro style set he could definitely move up to the earlier rounds.Rollo83 wrote:The website for the East West-Shrine Game has Fredie Barnes listed on the East roster.

I read a LOT of draft stuff and I don't think I've seen Sheehan's name mentioned once anywhere. He's not going to get invited to the combine and it's doubtful that he gets invited to any of the All Star games. Honestly, I'm not even sure he's going to get an UDFA offer.
The kid played pretty well for us, but he's just not an NFL talent.

Not an NFL prospect but he played better than pretty well. I hope our next QB, hopefully Pankratz, can do half as well.

Yeah, but even so, he should've handed off to Chris Bullock about 15-20 times per game.

Okay, he played very well for us? Sorry my choice of words didn't live up to your expectations. I'll run my adjectives through you before posting in the future.cowboyjoe wrote:The kid played pretty well for us? Are you kidding?

The point is he was a very good player for us, but is not an NFL prospect. I wasn't trying to downplay what he did for BG...he had a damn good senior season. I don't think he was a great player here, but he was very good.
Keeping in mind, of course, that I'm pretty spoiled as since I truly became a BG fan I've watched 2 of the best QBs in school history, so it's possible that Sheehan is better than I'm giving him credit for.

Re: Freddie in East-West Shrine Game
When I put Tyler in the context of BG quarterbacks, I think it is safe to say that he got more out of his given ability than any QB we ever had here.
He did not have the all around athletic ability of Harris.
He did not have the arm of Omar.
He did not have the pocket presence of McClure.
Yet he threw for more yards this year than any of them.
*Sheehan, like Barnes ended his Falcon career with one of his best games as a Falcons, completing 33-of-47 passes for 387 yards and four touchdowns, matching a career-best.
*The 300-yard game was his ninth of 2009, setting a new school record. He finished his career with 11 300-yard games, second-most in school history.
*Sheehan threw an interception midway through the third quarter, snapping a streak of 136 straight passes without giving it to the other team. Sheehan finished the season throwing just seven interceptions in 575 passes pass attempts (1:82.1).
*In his career Sheehan can now be found atop nearly every quarterback record in school history, He is first in pass attempts (1,494), completions (966), completion percentage (64.7) and second in passing yards (10,117) and passing touchdowns (70).
*He also finished 2009 with his best year statistically, throwing for 4,051 yards (school record) and 27 touchdowns. Sheehan is one of just two Falcons to throw for 4,000 yards in a season, the last being Omar Jacobs (4,002) in 2004.

Re: Freddie in East-West Shrine Game
Has nothing to do with Tyler or Freddie per se, but it's interesting, I think, to see that Romeo Crennel is coaching the East team, and Marty Schottenheimer is in charge of the West team.. Just a "little" bit of Browns background?

I actually saw a seven round mock draft that had him going in the fifth round, just a few picks after Freddie.hammb wrote:Rollo83 wrote:All 3 are WAY ahead of Sheehan in terms of prospect status.

Re: Freddie in East-West Shrine Game
You cannot argue the stats Tyler put up in his time here. I agree with Tom...Tyler may not have had the tools Josh, Omar and Brian had as far as athletic ability, but he simply got it done. He must be mentioned, IMO, when talking about the great QB's in BG history.Redwingtom wrote:When I put Tyler in the context of BG quarterbacks, I think it is safe to say that he got more out of his given ability than any QB we ever had here.

Wow. Pretty sure that's the first I've seen him listed at all...and in the 5th? Love to see it happen, but I'd be pretty damn surprised.TG1996 wrote:http://www.draftsite.com/nfl/2010mock.htm" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;Warthog wrote:I actually saw a seven round mock draft that had him going in the fifth round, just a few picks after Freddie.hammb wrote:Rollo83 wrote:All 3 are WAY ahead of Sheehan in terms of prospect status.

If anybody in the NFL thinks he's got a shot as a 5th rounder he'll find his way to one of the all star games, and be invited to the combine as well, so we'll get a better idea in the next couple months.

Re: Freddie in East-West Shrine Game
Nice to see, but I would be very surprised if Tyler is drafted if he does not even make the combine...and even more surprised if Barry Church lasts until the 6th round.TG1996 wrote:http://www.draftsite.com/nfl/2010mock.htm" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;Warthog wrote:I actually saw a seven round mock draft that had him going in the fifth round, just a few picks after Freddie.hammb wrote:Rollo83 wrote:All 3 are WAY ahead of Sheehan in terms of prospect status.

Last year their were 25 QB's at the combine and only 12 QB's were drafted...and Julian Edelman was only drafted to be used as a WR.

When was the last time BG had TWO guys go in the draft?
