WEWS Cleveland Sports
I'm not sure when it started but I noticed today that the sports website for the ABC affiliate out of Cleveland includes BGSU in its list of local, popular teams for both football and men's basketball.
That made me pretty happy.

With the old logo.....maybe somebody should forward to marketing office to get that changed. We changed the logo 3 years ago? and it still seems that old logo pops up all over the place.
I noticed the FMB uni's has the old logo as well, which is understandable with the relative cost, but come on how hard can it be to send a file to WEWS.

The FMB uniforms were designed and manufactured prior to the adoption of the new athletic department logo.falconjw wrote:With the old logo.....maybe somebody should forward to marketing office to get that changed. Too bad they don't include info on our most successful major athletic program..women's BB... who won again today over OU 77-42.

It has for a while. Let's not forget that longtime anchor Leon Bibb is an alumnus, and former chair of the Board of Trustees. Lee Jordan also went to BG.

To their defense, they don't include women's bball for anyone else either, so its not like they're excluding our successful program out of spite.

I knew that about Leon Bibb but did not about Lee Jordan. We're everywhere.jacojdm wrote:It has for a while. Let's not forget that longtime anchor Leon Bibb is an alumnus, and former chair of the Board of Trustees. Lee Jordan also went to BG.

Re: WEWS Cleveland Sports
I had completely forgotten about this, but since we're speaking of logos...did anyone notice that at one point during the H-bowl that someone (don't remember if it was the bowl or ESPN) not only used our old logo, but our old helmet? Towards the beginning of the game they showed a head-to-head graphic of the Idaho and BG helmets, and they used an image of the helmets we haven't worn since 2003 with the white fill in the LT logo. I'm actually surprised that no one else picked that out. I found it mildly amusing at the time.
And Leon Bibb is awesome. But, I gotta stick with BG alum Betsy Kling over at Channel 3.

During the 1992 Vegas Bowl ESPN had the logo and the name right, but they were using green as the primary color on the logo instead of orange...
It's not the fall that hurts...it's when you hit the ground.
Re: WEWS Cleveland Sports
I noticed it as well. I believe it was some sort of commercial, either from Roady's or some bank or something along those lines which was more Idaho-based than Ohio-based, so in a way, I kind of understood. Would have been nice of them to depict an accurate helmet, but I got the impression somebody just did a cursory search and threw together a graphic pretty quickly.Bleeding Orange wrote:I had completely forgotten about this, but since we're speaking of logos...did anyone notice that at one point during the H-bowl that someone (don't remember if it was the bowl or ESPN) not only used our old logo, but our old helmet? Didn't know about Bibb either. Growing up in Columbus, I remember him as an anchor/reporter there.

As long as we're talking about TV "personalities" in Cleve. TV, Wilma Smith (Ch.8) is also a BG alum.... We've had quite a presence in Cleve. area TV for MANY years.

Re: WEWS Cleveland Sports
the previous logo according to our athletic director will still be used in some fashion...Which I think is cool...I know some people are stupid and think its an L and a T but most of the people I have come across here in PA understand its a Falcon. If i was living in a cave...I would say it was a centurion helmet but It has character!!!
