Clawson's on the radar already...

Post by Flipper »

A Florida columnists take on the vacant USF job...

So USF should be looking a step below that level. The Bulls should be considering somebody like Al Golden, who just took Temple to its first bowl game in 30 years. They should look at somebody similar to Dave Clawson, who has had success as a head coach at Fordham, Richmond and now Bowling Green....

I think he's here until at least 2012, unless 2010 pans out to be a much better season than I'm anticipating...

I think there's a good chance he's here for quite a long time. His top priority is his family and he's expressed before how good of a town Bowling Green is for his kids. I don't think he's interested in moving them again, or at least not for quite a while.

Didn't Brian Kelly and his family really like Cincinnati, too?

He has to say that, whether he thinks BG is great or just the best he can do right now.

Not to knock Clawson, but with any coach I am going to assume they are looking to move up - and I don't really blame them.
Finally a senior!

Any time this is mentioned, I have to think back to the press conference after he was hired. He made it very clear that all of the moves had been tough on his family and he didn't want to put them through that again so soon.

Does that mean he's definitely not leaving? No. Unless you've got a JoePa or a Bowden, there's not much chance of them staying until they retire. Still, though, I feel good about Clawson.

But maybe I'm just naive.

OMG! SKYLINE! OMG!

Every coach loves the city they're in, until they find another city they can like just as well.

We all said the same things about Saint Urban...hell Urban said that stuff about Urban. When the right job comes along sucessful coaches typically leave...it's just the way it is...
