Something to think about

Post by gmartin »

BG currently stands at 12-4. Here are the records of the teams that we have lost too.

Ohio State: 17-1
St Bonny: 14-3
Hartford: 13-3
Marist: 12-4

All of which have an RPI higher than 50, with OSU being in the top 10. True we lost 4 games but its not like they were to non quality opponets. And let us not forget that we beat Vandy and their record currently is 13-2. As I said in other post, Kent, Toledo, and Eastern have respectable RPI at the moment. Lets root for them to continue to do well until we play them.

Those are all very good teams...and Ohio St really has a nice team. I watched some of their game with MSU yesterday. That Samantha Prahalis is a playa. No shame in losing to those teams. I love how Miller schedules OOC.

We're 12-4, 2-0 MAC. Right on schedule... :-D

Don't look now but our only quality win is slip-sliding away. Vandy has lost 3 of their last 4 and is now 12-4. They have fallen to 42 in both the Sagarin ratings and RealTimeRPI. Quality losses don't mean a thing if you don't have any quality wins to go with them. You are absolutely right about EMU and UT, they are the only chances for quality wins we have left on our schedule. Other than their games against us and each other, they really need to win out. The Marist and Hartford games were winnable and if we need at at large bid they could be back breakers.

To be honest I think we matched up worse with Hartford than Vandy. I watched the game online and Vandy did not look like the Vandy of years past when we beat them in the NCAA's. They were not as big or as athletic as that NCAA team we faced. I don't think Vandy will be winning the SEC this year, but yeah it would be nice if they would keep winning.

It doesn't surprise me in the least that Vanderbilt is struggling to start SEC play. Heck, we didn't even play well in that game and still beat them in their house.
