Alumni Band Society Opportunities!

Post by Rightupinthere »

April 17th, 2010 the Alumni Concert Band will be performing in concert with the BGSU Symphonic Winds.

To celebrate the 100th year of BGSU, the alumni band will be performing a commissioned work specifically honoring this milestone.

Watch for announcements with details about this exciting opportunity.

BGSU Alumni Athletic Band | Saturday, January 23

We need your help! Reading clinic falls on the same weekend as two athletic events on campus this month. The band staff and many students will be involved with those activities.

Mark your calendars for the following games on Saturday, January 23:

Women's Basketball
BGSU vs. Eastern Michigan University | 2 p.m.

Hockey
BGSU vs. Western Michigan University | 5:05 p.m.

We will serve pizza at 12:30 p.m., before the women's basketball game.

Please RSVP by Wednesday, January 13 to Jeff Rader '87 & '98 at [email protected] or (419) 351-4655. Include your name, grad year(s), instrument and which games you're available to play (hopefully both!).

Attire is an orange or white shirt (preferably BGSU) and khaki pants - NO jeans, please.

Will you be here for this?
"Regarding BGSU, I would think their biggest strength is that they never give up, They never slow down and they battle hard even after the other team scores. We have to be on our game and never, ever take the foot off the gas for a second."

"BG was relentless. It's like they know that a good first pass on the breakout from a defenseman will almost always result in an odd-man rush against them - but they go in anyway and dare you to make that pass. All three of their goals were just grit and effort. That's a team any fan can be proud to support...they give all they've got."

Can't make the A-Band oppty this year, sadly. Concert band looks good though.

Hey, Alumni! If you have yet to register for the historic April 17th concert, please call Pat in the office to register.

Remember, this is the concert where we are premiering a commissioned piece for the 100th year of BGSU.

Be a part of history.

If you need further information, send me a pm or email.

Thanks!

Will be there on the 17th. Anyone know how many ended up registering, and if the alumni will be playing anything on their own?

It was couple dozen. This weekend is a busy competition weekend in Ohio so I'm told. That caused the turnout to be relatively light. We will have student ringers to fill out the voicing.

I'll be there and yes, I'm practicing.
