St. Ignatius linebacker Jake Ryan verbals to Michigan. All his other offers were from MAC schools...including BG. Rich Rod really reaching for anything he can.

I was really hoping we'd get Ryan to come here and follow the tradition of some of the other Iggy LB's we've had here...but, I'd heard that he was leaning toward UT....if THAT was the case, then let him go to Mich....who knows, we might see him in the fall anyway.

Re: Michigan Recruiting Battling the MAC
I've read a few posts from Michigan fans lately on various forums bemoaning the lack of those *** star Ohio kids that used to develop into all Big Ten 10 players under Bo and Moeller. Soooooooo...not everyone views UM "settling" for *** guys like Vinopal and Ryann (amongst others) as a bad thing.
It's not the fall that hurts...it's when you hit the ground.

He was leaning towards Toledo and Ball State at one time. I know Toledo was done with the LB position though a couple of weeks ago....not sure about Ball State.
I've heard that Michigan is not the only BCS school that started looking at Ryan in the last few weeks. They are the only one that has brought him in on an official visit though and they offered him on the visit and he accepted immediately.
IMO, he's gonna turn into a good player for Michigan, but he's gonna need a year or two in the program first.
