Uh aren't officials suppose to be impartial?

Post by DustinXtreme »

last night for example in the second half, ohio had eight fouls and bowling green only had two and then 5 minutes later bowling green has 10! WTF? to put it simply
Terrible officiating last night, i almost lost my voice just yelling at the officials,
i found it funny when one the officials got knocked down.
i was hoping that we could have started a Bull s*** chant last night! it would only would have been the right thing to do

Would have been REALLY awesome if you could have started a "BS" chant, followed by multiple posts about the same topic. Shine on, you crazy diamond.

And you could have stood up while doing your BS chant. Come on Dustin, show some class. If you were to start that chant and I was an usher or someone with authority then I would have escorted you out of the arena. It is people like you that start those chants that keep people away from the games! Yet alone all the children at the game that don't need to hear that. Show some class for the university. Most importantly, show some class for yourself.

Approximately how old are you Dustin?

You've had similar problems over at the Toledo portion of the MACbbs.

I've said it many times...when you watch a game where you don't have a vested interest in the outcome (either emotionally or monetarily), the officials go virtually unnoticed.

Agreed, Im so glad I'm at a point where I care about the outcomes of games for like a minute then move on with the day, I just dont care to get worked up anymore, both about outcomes and how referees are

chanting that and things like that = classless

and just for the record, if you were an usher or someone of authority, I would have started a kick him out chant, and then appuladed after you kicked him out, but thats just me :-D

Yeah, I still feel embarrassed about my behavior at BG basketball games when I was in my later teens. It really hit home when someone from across the court told me they could hear me swearing at either an opposing player or an official and that it made a bad impression on the University not to mention on me.

But that's the point many have been trying to make to you. Everyone enjoys the game AND supports the team in different ways. There is no single right or wrong way to show support. Your earlier posts went after those who chose to support the team while sitting for whatever reason. So which side of this issue are you on? Can you sit and show support or must you be standing all the time?

As far as the B.S. cheer, that should not be tolerated at all! This is posted under game day for football and I would presume it extends to all sports and all venues.
The management of Doyt Perry Stadium reserves the right to eject patrons from the stadium for intoxication, drug use, foul or abusive language or any other conduct that does not support a conducive family atmosphere as determined by Bowling Green State University Athletics.

So I would love to see those in charge who will remain nameless enforce policy for once. It would only take clearing a section once along with a PA announcement of why the section was cleared to get the point across.

I can totally understand where Dustin is coming from, but let me tell you buddy, it's really not worth it. I was removed from a game my junior year and didn't get to see the last two minutes. Was the reason I was removed wrong? Yes. The referee said I called him a "jackass" which is completely untrue. But still, yelling at officials just isn't worth it and I figured it out that day. Keep your hostility directed towards the opposing team. And watch your language.

Those in charge won't do that, because to do so would be a public relations disaster for the university. It would look authoritarian in nature, and as it stands now, most of our student population is fairly ambivalent toward our athletic teams. If a whole section of them were thrown out at one of our football games, for example, I can guarantee that pretty much every one of them wouldn't be back again the rest of the season, maybe ever. Further, they would have further reason to badmouth our athletic department and root for other teams, ie: Ohio State, Michigan, et al.

BGSU would be taking a big risk by enforcing the rules to that extreme.
