CBS seems more inclined to think that Barnes has the potential to make it at the next level. While ESPN seems to think he is too slow to succeed.

Sounds like Freddie finished off the week with a real good showing in practices. Hopefully he'll look good in the game on Saturday as well.

I'm disappointed to hear that Skelton struggled so mightily with accuracy, he's a guy that could have a high ceiling. However, sounds like those accuracy struggles by the QBs allowed Barnes an even better opportunity to make himself stand out. Nice to hear that his route running is still considered a positive as well, sometimes tough to tell how great of a route runner WRs are in the spread.

It's all going to come down to the 40 for Barnes. If he turns in a faster 40 than expected he'll move up draft boards, I think. He's definitely a guy that I could see as a contributor in the slot for some team down the line.

Some friends of mine who really don't watch Mac football gave me their thoughts on Barnes getting drafted and they thought that if he turned in a 4.5 he has a shot. I'm not sure NFL teams get too excited about Wr's who can only run around a 4.6 unless your 6'5 or 6'6. Right now Freddie only has his hands and route running ability to impress.

Some friends "who don't watch MAC football" gave you their opinion? Good for them...I'd suggest they watch some film of Barnes without assuming that he needs to run a 4.5 or better to get "noticed" by the pros.... I'm not saying that it's not better to have the speed, but he still seems to have managed to get free of D-backs to catch 155 passes....must've been doing SOMETHING right. And this, despite drawing double coverage and "special" attention.

He picked a great time to have his first catch (and his first two passes thrown his direction). Between the timeouts, field goal and kickoff to end the half, he got some great face time.

Well, Freddie didn't catch the game winner, but he was the go to receiver on the game winning drive. Great finish, Freddie!

That was huge that he was the first read for three straight passes on the last drive and the 4th & 6 the drive before, he was the primary receiver until his route ran him into double coverage.

For the 1,000th time this year, way to represent BGSU, Freddie!

I was tuned in to see if Thad Turner was able to do much in representing OU in the game, and also to keep an eye on Barnes as I've been pretty impressed with him all season. Only got to see Turner take a few snaps, but he did make a couple tackles -- Barnes continued to impress. I have to think his performance today, especially in that last two minute drill, can only help him out in the coming months.

Yeah I know, I could repeat what you just said to them and they would say well the Mac is just that bad on defense that it doesnt' matter.

They probably try to slot guys into the right teams geographically but it's impossible to have the same amount of players from each coast.
