Curt's 100th Win!
Congratulations and thanks for ALL you do!!!! Here's to 100 more!!!
"Regarding BGSU, I would think their biggest strength is that they never give up, They never slow down and they battle hard even after the other team scores. We have to be on our game and never, ever take the foot off the gas for a second."

"BG was relentless. It's like they know that a good first pass on the breakout from a defenseman will almost always result in an odd-man rush against them - but they go in anyway and dare you to make that pass. All three of their goals were just grit and effort. That's a team any fan can be proud to support...they give all they've got."

Only 100? Or was it 100th MAC win?
Either way, I'll assume he reached some milestone today. Congrats Coach Miller!

EMU coach AnnaMarie Gilbert said in the post-game interview that she hoped Curt Miller would soon get a chance to move to the "next level". Me too.

We hope Coach Miller moves our Falcons up to the next level as well. And I would love to see the rest of the MAC continue to follow Coach Miller and our Falcons up to the next level.Joe Foss wrote:EMU coach AnnaMarie Gilbert said in the post-game interview that she hoped Curt Miller would soon get a chance to move to the "next level". The head coach at Syracuse collapsed during their game yesterday. Sounds like he'll be fine, but my mind went right to "I hope he can keep going and not leave an opening there."Joe Foss wrote:EMU coach AnnaMarie Gilbert said in the post-game interview that she hoped Curt Miller would soon get a chance to move to the "next level". Re: Curt's 100th Win!
First, Curt deserves congratulations on a great achievement. I think the announcement was that he was either the 6th coach to reach 100 MAC wins or 6 others have done it. Either is tremendous for him and BG.
But, as an aside, the comment by coach Gilbert about Miller moving on to the next level soon seemed awkward. I'm aware that she meant it with affection, however it seemed out of place. I know bigger paydays are out there for Miller (and probably the rest of his staff). But other than the traditional elites, are there many better programs than the one Miller has?
I'm just not sure I've heard a comment like that in public from one coach about another coach in the same conference.

Just listened to it -- I think she meant it as a joke. Obviously, without being there and seeing her face when she said it, I have no way of knowing for sure. I thought it was kind of similar to the quote I heard where Curt said that, once he realized Courtney Osborn wasn't going to come to BG, he called a bunch of BCS-type schools to try to get them to take her. Not sure if I heard that on the school's web site or saw that on the news, but it was pretty funny.AyZiggy97 wrote:... as an aside, the comment by coach Gilbert about Miller moving on to the next level soon seemed awkward. Re: Curt's 100th Win!
It just struck me as an odd thing to say...out of place. Maybe I'm a little sensative to the "next level" meme. Curt repeating it is often grating too. But coming from another coach it seemed as if she was saying, however genially, that Miller should get his money now to give the rest of the MAC a chance.
I'm sure there was nothing nefarious about the comment.....

No, I believe you guys did not want to hear that.. You only want to hear what you want to hear. We have at least one more year of Curt and maybe four more if he get this one recruit next year.
I am sure all the coaches feel the same way
I would as a coach. Hes a good one.

Re: Curt's 100th Win!
Why can't we enjoy every minute of each coaching era without worrying about when the next era begins, ends or it's potential for success. Doyt Perry only lasted 10 years as the head coach and consider his effect on BGSU football.
I often wonder if some people on this board have a death clock that counts down the minutes left in their lives. It would be sad if someone spent precious time watching the sands of the hour glass slip by instead of living and loving each precious moment.
I hope nobody misses a moment of this era while poundering the future.

I'm under no misconceptions. I'm stunned he's still at BG. It just seemed like the wrong time for EMU's coach to say what she said and perhaps not quite right to say it in public. Just my $0.02.
