Ohio's 2 time Mr Football Erick Howard commits to Akron..but
Erick Howard, 2 time Mr. Football in Ohio has commited to Akron according to ohio.com but he has set up a visit to Toledo where he may decommit from Akron and choose the Rockets. If he chooses Toledo then BG may wanna worry about this kid.

I'd worry more about him if he was at Akron, considering they're in the same division. Beating Toledo regularly is outstanding, but division and conference championships are the big goal.

What a suprise that it is down to the two schools that have open enrollment, and can keep about anyone or thing eligible while there.

Doesn't BG have an Mr. Ohio walk-on? Its a title that means they put up big numbers in HS, but has little bearing on college football.

Excellent point. Howard played at North Canton Hoover and put up amazing stats but that doesn't mean he's going to have a great career in college, wherever he goes. I agree with TG...I'd rather see him at TSUN than Akron.daspollak wrote:Doesn't BG have an Mr. Ohio walk-on? RF posted on MACbbs that Toledo is no longer an option for him. Speculation is that he is not going to be eligible anywhere anyway.

He must be the dumbest kid in North Canton.
His folks had to move out west, and he became a ward of head coach Don Hertler, Jr. and has lived with Hertler for the past two years.
Having said that, Howard was a fine player in high school, in one of the most competitive big school leagues in Ohio. He was an important part of a team that lost in the state semis in '08 and graduated a bunch of solid players. Howard more or less carried Hoover to a 7-3 record and the playoffs in '09.
