Western beat Buffalo, Eastern beat Akron..both on the road.

Kent neutered NIU. Nice to have that road win over the Flashers in our pocket

Tonight was the first men's basketball game I've ever completely sat through from start to finish (watched a few minutes here and there). I've never been a huge basketball fan, but Grant was going to be at the game and I had a press pass waiting from a month or two ago, so I thought I'd gear up and shoot the game.

It was also the first basketball game I've shot in 8 or 9 years. Tough shooting conditions, to say the least. AA isn't friendly to photographers.

Back to the gameplay, though... it just seemed like it was slow. Nothing really exciting. Low scoring. I don't know... probably wasn't a good first game to sit through completely. Doesn't really get me excited about basketball. At least we won! It wasn't fun to hear the student section start the F toledo chant, though.

Anyway, here's an image from the game!

I was under the impression that the Huskies had been impotent since the start of the Rob Judson era.

11 teams within 3 losses of each other in the MAC. ...then there's Toledo.

I'm sorry but I totally disagree. There is NEVER anything painful about BG beating ut. Now, I was listening over the net so I didn't actually see the game but....

Well of course it's great to beat UT, but that UT team is probably one of the worst basketball teams I've ever seen. They are truly terrible.

And you have evidence from Todd above just how bad it was as he goes out to watch his first ever basketball game, and doesn't sound like he enjoyed it at all. The brand of basketball that we play is just painfully boring. Yeah we're winning more than we lose, and that's great, but we are certainly painful to watch. There is something wrong when you're nursing a double digit lead in the 2nd half and some of us are sitting up there asking ourselves, "Why do we do this, again?" The game just sucked. We sucked a little less than UT, but we still sucked.

MAC basketball has, unfortunately, fall in line with MAC football as being truly terrible.

Sort of embarrassed to say it has been like two years since I've been to a game. But comments like this help me understand that I am not missing anything.

The UT announcer said Bastfield made a swipe at the ball as the clock ran out and BG dribbled time away. I'm waiting for Cowboyjoe's take on this. I assume it was because Bastfield wnated to make a steal, hit a 3/4 floor three pointer, get fouled, make the free throw (like that could happen) and hit the spread. Is that your take, CJ?

Little paranoid are we? Awful basketball...probably Dakich's fault. McCelroy caught with marijuana Saturday night..probably Dakich's fault. Rockets sending in slow slug after slow slug into the game...probably Joplin's fault. The Rockets have gone from "gangsta'" ball to "high school" ball. A joke to send a team like that on the floor. We aren't great by any means but we get it done a little over half the time at least.
