This has GOT to make a big difference for our future recruiting efforts.
Re: Stroh!!!!!!!!!
Now that there is actually something rising up out of the ground, might be nice to have a Stroh cam link stickied at the top of this forum.

Re: Stroh!!!!!!!!!
I was under the impression that the court would be lower than ground level, but it doesn't appear that any pit has been dug. When you walk in will it be similar to Anderson where you walk in and walk up to your seat?
I see your Swartz is as big as mine!

My understanding is more like Lucas County Arena. Walk in, walk up to a concourse, then down to your seats.BourbonFalcon wrote:I was under the impression that the court would be lower than ground level, but it doesn't appear that any pit has been dug. Re: Stroh!!!!!!!!!
Good old lot 6. I have fond memories of parking there. At times, finding a spot in that lot was like hitting gold.
I can't help but be interested in watching the cam even when it's just cars rolling through, and no work is being done.

Re: Stroh!!!!!!!!!
Looks like they're starting to get those angle beams in for the front facade. The Stroh keeps looking better and better!

Re: Stroh!!!!!!!!!
Seems smaller, now that the iron is going up. And I had visualized the building being orientated differently, with the building facing Wooster. But this is better. More parking directly in front, easy access from across the street. Quick access to post-game places to eat. Close to the rest of the sports complex. Good stuff.

Re: Stroh!!!!!!!!!
One thing I don't understand is where that giant falcon statue is supposed to go? Based upon the renderings it looks as though it is planned for the Southeast corner of the building, but it would seem more appropriate to put it somewhere closer to DLP given that the "Falcon Plaza" is supposed to be located somewhere between the two buildings.NWLB wrote:Seems smaller, now that the iron is going up. I'm also somewhat surprised to see how high above grade the main concourse is going to be. Not totally surprised given the fact that bedrock is six inches below ground mind you, but you can really get a good idea of it look at the girders that have gone up.
No matter what, it is great to see the Stroh taking shape!

Re: Stroh!!!!!!!!!
It certainly is awesome to see it is actually happening. Grant & I were talking last night, hard to believe that was the last time UT is scheduled to play in Anderson...just wow...Bleeding Orange wrote: No matter what, it is great to see the Stroh taking shape!
Hopefully the quality of the team will be poised to match the quality of the arena.
Re: Stroh!!!!!!!!!
When I was driving to the Ice Arena today I noticed it and immediately was surprised how quickly it's going up.

Re: Stroh!!!!!!!!!
With most structures, it seems that once the groundwork is done, the actual building of the facility goes fairly quick. LOVIN IT!!!

Th outside and framing always go up fast. The inside is what takes all the time. Went over the same thing with the sebo center.
BO I believe the statue is supposed to be on the NorthEast side.
