2-1 Meechigan after 2. Dee's penalty was a game misconduct but is his 2nd of the season. I'll have to see if that counts as an automatic DQ.

Michigan outshooting BG 21-10.

2-1 is how it ends. Ruel was a last-minute scratch: flu. When you think about it BG played pretty well tonight. The only goals coming on the 5 minute PP. I didn't see the Dee penalty but Mr. Pavlack did and didn't think it was justified. Good enough for me.

I agree! I thought the guys overall played good tonight. Other than the second goal, Eno played great as well.

I am not one who usually points fingers at the officiating but I felt the calls were very one-sided tonight in favor of Michigan. I sit next to the glass and there were lots of things Michigan was doing that were not getting called. Very disappointed! :x

Does anyone know why Pageau hasn't been playing? He didn't play tonight and I don't remember seeing him play during the Western Michigan series either.

Eno was OUTSTANDING tonight!!! It was also FANTASTIC to see Dr. Cartwright at the game tonight!!! :supz:

And yes, Frenzy, the officiating totally sucked. PERIOD!! Dee gets a 5 and the weasel who SLAMMED Vargas in the third only gets a 2 for boarding???? SERIOUSLY????? I hope that the Badgers have weasel for dinner on Saturday and we'll clean up the left overs on Tuesday!!!

"BG was relentless. It's like they know that a good first pass on the breakout from a defenseman will almost always result in an odd-man rush against them - but they go in anyway and dare you to make that pass. All three of their goals were just grit and effort. That's a team any fan can be proud to support...they give all they've got."

The guys came out hitting and played a very good game. They didn't retaliate to the cheap crap that Michigan plays with. It's very disheartening when you see that "boarding" call made with 3 minutes left. It should have fired the guys up going on the powerplay at that point, but the 2 minutes for a very balatant check from behind removes all doubt as to who was supposed to win....

Eno played a very good game. The first goal he had the first save. The defenseman wasn't able to pick up his check (but he probably would've ended up with in the box if he did.) The second goal he played perfectly, had the player one-timed the shot. When Eno came across the crease he left room between himself and the post. The player held onto the puck rather than shooting right away and was able to make a very difficult, sharp angle shot. Very few goaltenders are able to make a save on that shot.

I also thought a few of the players were REALLY tired (Page - did that kid ever leave the ice?) in the last minute and a half, part of the reason we had such a hard time getting control of the puck.

We definitely gassed ourselves in the earlier periods and were running on fumes in the last few minutes. They definitely fought their hardest and can be proud of it. And continuing with the "boarding" call - WTF?! That was the most blatantly bad call of the night. The second that happened I expected to see another game misconduct and 5 minute major. I was furious when I saw 2 minutes go up on the board! The officials left a lot to be desired...

Personally, I hope video of that hit is the league office being reviewed. The CCHA has suspended players three times this season. The first suspension was to a NMU player for a blindside hit that was not penalized during the game. Hits from behind do not get much more blatant than this one.

Link to NMU player's suspension.

From my point of view way up in the band it looked like he elbowed or punched Vargas in the back then shoved him into the boards. One of the dirtiest hits I've ever seen. Ridiculous... He should be suspended for it.

He elbowed Vargas... I have it on my camera, actually. I'll have to post the picture later. It was blatant. And Dee barely touched his dude into the boards... wasn't even close to a game misconduct. Awful officiating.
