UT whipped OU, Kent took it to Northern, and Eastern is up late on Kent.

Looks like Akron is in sole possesion of second, and if we were to lose, we will be tied with Akron.

Ball State has been our nemisis the last couple of years. 2 years ago we lost on their court by 20 something, then last year in the MACC, and now we are down by 7 and still show no energy whatsoever. Wait, down by 11. Guess the pregame warmup shoot-a-round was no fluke.

We need to learn how to handle the press and close out games on the road: Marist, Hartford, Vandy, UT and now today.

Didn't BG beat Vanderbilt and Ball State?

Yes but when you are up by 11 pts with 5:00 min to go, and 8 points with 3 minutes to go, PLUS at UT having a lead and losing it, WE STILL NEED TO KEEP THE FOOT ON THE GAS AND NOT LET UP.

We also were up at Hartford and Marist AND LOST those games.

While this year's team is very good, to me they seem to lack the killer instinct of teams past. After that 25-5 run, they should have buried Ball State. I give the Cards credit...they left everything on the floor.

A win is a win...on the road, no doubt. But BG needs to gain that killer instinct.

Mike,
To me the difference between BSU and BG is simple....SIZE.... those two blonde girls from BSU gave us fits at the Q last year..and yesterday was no exception...Tara is a HUSTLE type player, but one who gets a bit overwhelmed when facing the 6'2" and bulky type player...and the lefty from BSU really hurt us... Maggert is expected to do so, but the other girl was a difference maker.

Next year hopefully size at forward and center will be not much of an issue as we bring back 6'2 center Geise and 6'2 transfer forward Havel. They should bring some nice length we've been missing for some time now.

The men's team has the some problem but this women's program has a coach that's will's them into many wins. Good effort yesterday!

It would have been great to win all 5 of those games. But closing any game, especially games on the road, with more points than the opposition is a good way to close it out. IMHO
