Miami's Student Assistant Dies in Car Accident

Post by Falcon Fanatic »

Thoughts and prayers go out to the Miami hockey family on this tragic loss.

Also, be sure to read the attached article on Burke coming out to his father. As much as I hate Miami and Enrico Blasi, I was impressed with how they handled Burke's announcement.

"Regarding BGSU, I would think their biggest strength is that they never give up, They never slow down and they battle hard even after the other team scores. We have to be on our game and never, ever take the foot off the gas for a second."

"BG was relentless. It's like they know that a good first pass on the breakout from a defenseman will almost always result in an odd-man rush against them - but they go in anyway and dare you to make that pass. All three of their goals were just grit and effort. That's a team any fan can be proud to support...they give all they've got."

My thoughts and Prayers go out to the Burkes and to The Redhawk family. I heard about his passing on the Redwings telecast yesterday. Brendan seemed like an amazing person whose strength of character and bravery will live on in the hearts and minds of all who met him. With Miami coming to BG this upcoming weekend, I wish them well as they continue to deal with Brendan's passing...HOWEVER, not 2 W's :)

GO FALCONS!

Check out this video of the interview Brendan and his Dad did for TSN.

That's such a sad story. I'm not a fan of Brian Burke or Miami University but Brendan seemed like a good kid who had a great life ahead of him.

I agree and that's why this is so sad. As a parent of two young drivers, it is just terrifying to think about!

You can say what you want about Miami Hockey (and i'll probably agree), but Coach Blasi is a great guy and is the reason for their success.

RIP young Redhawk...
"Eyeball to eyeball, I said, 'Dr. Cartwright, don't put me in this position if you plan on dropping hockey. That won't happen as long as I'm alive. I'll fight that to my grave." - Jack Vivian

We will be a power again!

Go Falcons!

was watching the Maple Leafs on TV this weekend and they had a moments silence before the National Anthem for this young man. . . . didn't realize the connection.

prayers to the family

as a side note the 'color man' in the TV booth was Gary Galley (assume he's our BG boy)?
