Contact Information For CCHA Officials
I was wondering if anyone knew direct contact information for CCHA officials or the CCHA office. I am very concerned about the officiating (or lack thereof) from this weekend's series, and would like to write to the league and express my dissatisfaction. I'm aware it won't do much, but I just feel the need to do this. I checked on the CCHA website and couldn't find anything but their standard "Contact Us" link, which is not what I want.
Thanks.
Thanks.

Contact Steve Piotrowski - Director of Officiating
I wouldn't be surprised to see Steve this weekend at BG.

It might make you feel better to send that message but any reviews or discipline have already been decided by the conference.

Re: Contact Information For CCHA Officials
I don't so much think it is to ask for a review or anything, I think every fan should have an opportunity to voice an opinion of a league to which they pay to watch. I know BGSU students don't directly pay for every ticket to every game, but it comes out of fees, as for all others in attendance they pay money to attend. Part of that money becomes revenue to the league. Therefore, I see nothing wrong with a fan writing in to a conference voicing an opinion seeing as the fans pay the league officials as well as league administration. I believe that something needs to be said as well, there is no reason the game should be more chippy with 2 refs and 2 linesman on the ice at a time. There is no excuse for them allowing 2 if not 3 line brawls in one game. Obviously something is broken with the system and the league needs to take a look at it.

Who was around when Pi was reffing? If you want to hear a lot of boos and groans from the older fans here, have him skate onto the ice dressed for officiating......vwfalcon wrote:Obviously something is broken with the system and the league needs to take a look at it.

I was and he was one of the best officials the CCHA has ever had, if not the best. He played the game and I think that gave him a unique perspective on it. Was he perfect, no...none are. But again, you have to watch games without a vested interest in order to truly evaluate officiating.pdt1081 wrote:Who was around when Pi was reffing? Re: Contact Information For CCHA Officials
The outcome was the outcome because of the player not the officials (unfortunately).
The officials might have been miserable but #1 vs last place tends to not get the best officials assigned from any league office in any sport. Must accept that.
Let's try something at BG to get better officiating: STOP BOOING THEM AS THEY ENTER THE ICE. This practice does not help to get better calls from mediocre or better officials. Applaude, welcome and make them think this is the best assignment they could have gotten. Be Canadian - "Thank you" & "Please"
Just a thought.

When compared to Shegos, Shegos, Graff, and Rutherford that's not really hard to accomplish, I guess.Redwingtom wrote:I was and he was one of the best officials the CCHA has ever had, if not the best. Believe it or not, many of the officials actually seem to enjoy being booed. When they skate onto the ice, the more boos at the beginning of the game the bigger the smile on the officials face. I've seen it many times.FalconTurf wrote: Let's try something at BG to get better officiating: STOP BOOING THEM AS THEY ENTER THE ICE. But I wasn't. I was comparing him to everyone I had ever seen spanning from about 1978 through 1997 when I stopped regularly attending games.pdt1081 wrote:When compared to Shegos, Shegos, Graff, and Rutherford that's not really hard to accomplish, I guess.Redwingtom wrote:I was and he was one of the best officials the CCHA has ever had, if not the best. Re: Contact Information For CCHA Officials
My desire to write to the CCHA league office and/or director of officiating has nothing to do with the scoreboard outcome of the game. We were overmatched, and we lost. I can accept that.
My desire is to express my displeasure about specific actions that occurred on the ice that deserved to be penalized, and for whatever reason were not.
I realize it's not going to change anything or lead to anything. I simply want to express my opinion. Doing so by writing a letter seems to be the opposite of what you all seem to be speaking out against - being a screaming, heckling idiot in the stands.
FYI: Standing? Yes. Heckling? Absolutely. Cursing? No. And as a whole, we're a long way from being Michigan fans.
