Fantasy game for Notre Dame series

Post by Freddie »

Your squad will consist of six forwards, four defensemen and a goalie...they can be from either team or any combination of the two teams.

Forwards earn 2pts for each goal, 1pt for each assist.
Defensemen earn 3pts for a goal, 1.5pts for an assist.
Goalie gets 1pt for each complete period (including OT) without allowing a goal.
As before, shootouts don't count for anything.

Each team's top three scoring forwards and one top scoring defenseman are ineligible!!: JST, Petruska, Solway & Page from BG... Ridderwald, Maday, Ben Ryan & Lawson from ND

BONUS pick: Choose one extra player for Friday, and one extra player for Saturday. This player can be anybody...forward, defenseman, goalie...it could be someone you've already included as one of your original picks (he'll earn double points), or it could be one of the players from the ineligible list!!!

Don't forget the tie-breaker, total goals for the series.

Entries must be in by 6pm Friday!

"Halftime" scores:

Freddie 13.5
MACMAN 12.5
sum1udontknow 11.5
pdt1081 4

Nobody scored with their bonus pix.

We never assigned a point value for an assist by the goalie, so I didn't award any points for Eno's assist. No matter, I suppose, as we all had him on our 'teams'

My score looks right:
Thang 1g, 2a...............4
Sheahan 1a.................1
Pageau 1g...................2
Kantola 1g...................2
Cole 2a.......................3
Krelove 1a...................1.5
Total..........................13.5

looks like the diff between your score and mine is I had Pageau, but you had Perkin (not a smart pick, since we knew he was DQ ;-) .

Final Score:

MACMAN.............18.5
sum1udontknow...17.5
Freddie..............16.5
pdt1081..............10.5

Congrats MAC, your all Homer team finally paid off! Kind of like buying the same lottery numbers every week. Petruska was the differance, everybody but me had him as the Sat bonus guy.

The only scoring for tonight was Eno's 3 (we ALL had him), Petruska's 2, and Perkin's 1.

Not that it matters, but Peltoma had an assist. It really doesn't matter, but it is his first collegiate point.

I am sure it matters to him! :-D
"Regarding BGSU, I would think their biggest strength is that they never give up, They never slow down and they battle hard even after the other team scores. We have to be on our game and never, ever take the foot off the gas for a second."

"BG was relentless. It's like they know that a good first pass on the breakout from a defenseman will almost always result in an odd-man rush against them - but they go in anyway and dare you to make that pass. All three of their goals were just grit and effort. That's a team any fan can be proud to support...they give all they've got."

When I said 'the only scoring' I meant the only scoring in our fantasy game...since nobody had Peltoma on their team, I didn't include it. That said, congrats to Ryan!

I did, but it doesn't affect the outcome. And I thought it should be mentioned somewhere that he got his first point...
