I still hold my desire to retain Williams.

ME TOO!! While I understand a "national search" needs to happen...I think that the search should start with Razor as the guy and if anyone comes close to bringing to this team, program and community what he brings, then they get the job. I just don't see that happening!

Dennis is the guy, and I encourage each and every person to write a letter to DR Cartwright stating so. DW and his staff deserve a 5 year deal. I believe in what they are doing, I believe that another new coach or system would only create more turmoil for a few years and that is not what we need. DW and these guys are on track, they are positive, the guys are positive and with DW I believe we can contest for a CCHA title in 4 years.

From inside sources I have heard that if the Interm title is not removed from Coach Williams and they go another directions that other CCHA programs have shown interest in coach Williams within their programs. BGSU won't sign their coaches but other rival programs within the same league will..........? What does that tell you about univeristy support toward hockey if this happens.

I like to let folks do their jobs. I know Dr. Cartwright and our AD are behind the program. Let's let them do their jobs. The AD hires the coaches.

We can disagree on how/when things are done as fans but experience tells me that people need to be given the chance to their jobs. We just don't have all the information or knowledge as fans in areas such as this. That's my opinion.

I certainly feel Coach Williams has done a super job and would be a great "permanent" coach. Great, great job.

Go Falcons!

Before we all jump on the "Hate Greg Christopher" bus (again) lets just let things work themselves out. No need to spread rumors or "facts" that are based on hear say. Whether we like it or not, the athletic department does read this site, and reading negative comments about our AD doesn't help things.

With that, I'm all for Williams keeping the job. Listening to him talk after the games... he just looks good from my point of view. And, we are going into an upswing at the right time. Let's see what the playoffs bring.

THANK YOU!!!!!

All of this crap needs to stop! Unless you have absolute proof it's time to put up or shut up! I know and respect many of you but it does the program no good to keep spreading these rumors. And until they are proven, that is all they are. Hate me if you want, and many of you have told me you do, but the reality is we still have a hockey program. Let's focus on keeping it and not tearing down the department it is a part of.

I think it will, but Williams is absolutely the guy. It's coming on the dawn of the "coaching revolving door" and I would like BG to be ahead of the curve. Whether they presently are or not I'm unsure, to be honest.

I don't have misgivings with Christopher. He's made some solid hires and business decisions [taking it for the conference in football scheduling aside.]

When we win a playoff series on the road, Mar. 5-7, the boys will come back to campus and then the AD removes the "interim" title from coach D. He is definitely the guy and I am confident the AD knows that. The AD is a fan, I have seen him at a number of games this year. This is a great time for Falcon hockey.

This just reaffirms my opinion of the AD.
Have you ever heard of a guy named Charlie Weis? You know, a head coach who in his first year brought more fire and excitement to the ND football team than they'd seen in years? The AD signed him a huge contract extension midway through the first season, and we all know how the fallout of that one went.

I'm NOT trying to compare Williams to Weis. Instead, I'm just pointing out why you don't give huge contract extensions in the middle of season one, no matter who the coach is. You let the whole season play out and make decisions regarding the future at the end of a complete season so you get an understanding of what the coach is like.

That all being said ... barring anything unusual in the next several weeks, I am all for signing him as full time coach once the season is complete. Just not before.
