Congrats to Larson

Post by cowboyjoe »

LARSON HONORED: Falcons forward Marc Larson has been named an ESPN the Magazine Academic All-American second team selection.

Larson, a 6-11 post, is an engineering major who owns a 3.97 grade point average. He averages 5.0 points and 3.8 rebounds.

Let us all understand the term "student athlete." Bash him on the floor, like some of you do, but understand the total picture.

Congrats to Marc!

I've been a critic of his play in the past, but no doubt the kid embodies what you look for in a Student Athlete. Good for him!

There are some mechanical engineering technology programs over at the College of Technology. It might be one of those. Not sure of the specific names.

Was it on a recent broadcast or in the story about him linked here to his hometown paper about how he has gotten one B in his college career, "by an instructor that doesn't like to give A's"

Congrats Marc!

Maybe this?:
Engineering Technology (ENGT), an interdisciplinary major housed in the Department of Technology Systems, combines relevant contemporary theories to prepare technical managers for current and future technological challenges and opportunities. ENGT uses unique design and technical systems-oriented experiences to bring knowledge to life. Professional preparation in ENGT is about leadership in managing technical change to enhance competitiveness in a global marketplace.

ENGT has a common core in Design and Manufacturing Technology and two specializations, Quality Systems and Mechanical Design. The core consists of 42 semester hours of design, quality, and manufacturing underpinnings, useful to technical managers in all industries as they prepare for professional practice.

Are you serious? You must haven't watched the same games I have. This guy sets imaginary picks, he's scared to shoot, everytime he touches the ball he fumbles it, he's 6'10 and can't get a rebound. Like I said, He's GARBAGE!!!!!! as an athlete.

Wow natti...you are such a great addition to this message board. I'm sure you're an amazing athlete that sets great picks much better than Marc does.

He probably has a 4.0 too! :smt042

Maybe we could set up a fundraiser with Mark playing "natti" one on one or a little "quiz bowl" type of thing! ;-) !

I am a great addition to the board because I am keeping it real. I gave him credit where it is due, in the classroom. As far as on the court here are some stats: remember he is 6'10
Valparaiso- 4 rebs., 3 turnovers= Terrible
Buffalo- 0pts., 1 reb, 1 turnover= Terrible
Miami- 9pts, 3 reb, o turnover=ok
NIU- 6pts, 3 reb, 0turnover=mediocre/ Jordon Crawford had 6pts. 2 reb, he's 5'6!!!!!
Western Mich-4pts., 4 rebs. and threw that full court pass to the other team=Terrible

Come on people, this sounds like american idol where peoples' friends tell them that they sing good when they can't then go on tv and embarrass themselves, lets keep it real!!!!

And now I'm down to only about three or four people on the board that are not on my IGNORE list. 8-)

Mark is an Engineering Technology major. Its about two or three years old. Combined some courses from the Mechanical Design program with some new courses.

I don't disagree with you that he's not the best basketball player in the world. HOWEVER, that wasn't the point of this thread. The point was to congratulate a GREAT kid on a job well done in the classroom. Why can't we just keep it at that.
