I will still push for naming the arena The Cooper-Vivian Arena. There wouldn't be an ice arena without Dr. Sam Cooper and the future of the arena and program are going forward thanks to Dr. Jack Vivian!!! Those two men gave/give their heart and soul to this arena/program!!!!
"Regarding BGSU, I would think their biggest strength is that they never give up, They never slow down and they battle hard even after the other team scores. We have to be on our game and never, ever take the foot off the gas for a second."

"BG was relentless. It's like they know that a good first pass on the breakout from a defenseman will almost always result in an odd-man rush against them - but they go in anyway and dare you to make that pass. All three of their goals were just grit and effort. That's a team any fan can be proud to support...they give all they've got."

Indeed. Cooper-Vivian Arena does have a ring to it, and it bridges the delicate need to clearly acknowledge both.

How about:
"Jack Vivian Arena at The Sam Cooper Ice Center"

You will have more than just the hockey ice in this facility. It isn't uncommon to have named venues within facilities. And this recognizes two seminal figures in BGSU and BGSU hockey history.

Dr. Cooper was truly known for having had an impact on student sports from varsity to intermural. He is the "Father of BGSU Hockey," as well as a driving force behind getting the build constructed in the first place.

Jack Vivian obviously was the first varsity coach, and really the most vital part of what is making the new building possible.

I love watching Cavallini just drop over in exhaustion after the goal. So great.

Crap. Vegas had the over/under for smilies in FF's reply at 6.5. Shouldn't have taken the over. :P

Can't forget that it's the BG "Ice" Arena. Scott Hamilton ... Olympic Gold ... largest donor to this point ... make it an even mil. and I'd go with Hamilton Arena.
