Or we could just supply a few links.BGGrad01 wrote:For visitors from our opponent's boards, perhaps a brief summary of the University. Location (northwest Ohio, NOT KENTUCKY), enrollment, brief history, story of Ay Ziggy Zoomba, Freddy/Freida, Sic Sic, etc.

How about a warning section that states some of the posters get all pissy if you do one or more of the following:
1. Post a topic that has already been discussed.
2. Post information about your personal life in a forum other than Free-For-All, especially if it is about your kids or flag football team.
3. Post about another college, high school or professional team that is not BG in any forum.
4. Post thoughts that are different than other posters.
5. Give your opinion when asked and it is not what the opinion seeker wanted to hear.
6. If you do not read every thread posted.
Sarcasm? Yes. Truth? Yes.

Can't say that I've ever really been flamed for doing these.BGorDeath wrote:How about a warning section that states some of the posters get all pissy if you do one or more of the following:

Honestly, I'd have to say the folks here are more forgiving than most. I've been to (and frequent) some message boards where an innocent comment turns into a blazing flame. I'm not saying that some folks don't do what you're describing, just saying that 1) it's part of how message boards function and 2) this board is more benevolent than most.

I know I have seen many times posters getting a litte pissy when those things happen. For the most part, it may not happen, but there are some that take this way to serious and lambast new posters for not living by their message board etiquette rules. Sad. This is the Internet. You have to expect that those types of things are going to happen and ignore those posts if you feel they are wasting your time. It's a big world not owned by a few.

Hmmmm....I guess this is directed at myself and one other person. I will add, again, if you don't want to read the posts, don't open the thread. Pretty harmless stuff....no need to get pissy about it.BGorDeath wrote:How about a warning section that states some of the posters get all pissy if you do one or more of the following:

"I'll handle this. We feel the problem isn't with Peter. It's that you haven't challenged him enough."
"Ooooooh....I'm just not sure about that."
"Let me ask you a question, Bill....how much time would you say you spend on these TPS Reports per week"?
