Bowling Green won 9 games again. This is the 3rd successive year that BG has won 9 or more games as a Div. 1A team. I believe that's a 1st. There were only 24 teams this season that won 9 or more games. How many have won 9 or more for 3 successive years? I don't know but it can't be a lot.
Another 1st? BG won its second consecutive Bowl Game.
We could earn yet another 1st--finishing in the Top 25 for 2 successive years. This probably won't happen but it's a close call.
Remember when Urban Meyer in his last year said we may have a good team but we don't have a good program? Well, I think we're at least close to having a good program. One more strong year, fans, and I think we can claim that honor. Some might want to claim it now.

We won back-to-back bowl games in 1991 and 1992.

True, but that would be 8 wins for six years in a row. There can't be many schools at all that could claim that. I think we are all expecting BIG things out of the time next year, but if we can pull out a solid season in '06...wow...it would be hard to fall off that kind of run!1987alum wrote:Eight wins won't necessarily bring home a championship, as we found out this year.orangeandbrown wrote:First, its not a good program until you've won at least one championship. In 05, we have a ton of seniors. If we win 8 in '06, we're a good program.
