Re: Bergeron Presser And Thoughts
As long as he doesn't call it "the brotherhood" here. We are not Miami. And I don't want to become "Miami North" either!! We need OUR OWN IDENTITY. The Falcon players need it and will thrive from it!! And before anyone jumps on here, I will clarfiy that I DO want Miami's success, but it needs to be done The Falcon Way!!!BGFan wrote:Another article from Gordon on Bergeron's philosophy.
"Regarding BGSU, I would think their biggest strength is that they never give up, They never slow down and they battle hard even after the other team scores. We have to be on our game and never, ever take the foot off the gas for a second."

"BG was relentless. It's like they know that a good first pass on the breakout from a defenseman will almost always result in an odd-man rush against them - but they go in anyway and dare you to make that pass. All three of their goals were just grit and effort. That's a team any fan can be proud to support...they give all they've got."

Re: Bergeron Presser And Thoughts
This didn't need a new post, just some points covered during the Ask the AD segment:
Bergeron Hiring
- Coaching choice was a tough call. Dennis was always positive..righted the ship and stabilized it.
- Bergeron was seen as the better long term choice.
- Chris went through what we're going through at Miami as a player.
- Conversation w/ Williams re: Bergeron hiring was tough. Christopher feels for Dennis. Felt he treated the coaches with respect.
BBTG Campaign
- BBTG campaign is going decent.
- At Morrow visit we were at $2 million.
Arena Renovations
- Contractors have 155 days to complete the work.
- Work to be completed this summer: Chillers replaced, lighting replaced, patch ice transformed to locker room, curling ice becomes multi-purpose ice, hallway (lobby?) renovation, new skate shop, new merchandise area, new ticketing area, and cleaning up outside of arena.
- Prices were lower than quoted so there may be some small extras.

Doesn't the low metal roof have more of an impact on the sound quality than the system itself?BGFan wrote:Like a new sound system maybe? Please.....with sugar on top!BGDrew wrote:Prices were lower than quoted so there may be some small extras.

Not with the current system. The speaker in the southwest corner (above the concession stand) cuts in and out all the time. Standing near the Zamboni room it's a struggle to hear anything over the PA.Redwingtom wrote: Doesn't the low metal roof have more of an impact on the sound quality than the system itself?

Hey, those speakers were the top of the line in 1974!! What's not to like?
Re: Bergeron Presser And Thoughts
I'm going to hazard a guess and say that the foam (or whatever they used back then) around the outside of the speaker cones probably disintegrated 20 years ago. Given their age it's amazing that they produce the quality of sound that they do.bgpuckster wrote:BGFan wrote:Like a new sound system maybe? Re: Bergeron Presser And Thoughts
Yeah the sound system isn't THAT bad, but yes, it could be upgraded. Along with a new goal horn. And holes in the glass for photo (which I offered to buy/donate for and was turned down because of "Safety" reasons...)

Sadly, I can see the "safety" concerns. There isn't anywhere around the glass doesn't have complete public access. It's not hard to imagine some moron deciding to stick his/her hand through the camera hole and trying to grab a passing player.toddpav wrote:Yeah the sound system isn't THAT bad, but yes, it could be upgraded. I love people who can laugh at themselves. It saves me the effort.

The holes are closed/covered/secured when not in use by a photographer.rood wrote:Sadly, I can see the "safety" concerns. There isn't anywhere around the glass doesn't have complete public access. Closed and covered, I've seen, but just out of curiosity how are they secured? I've never noticed any kind of locks but maybe I'm just not getting close enough to see them.
