some questions may never be answered in our lifetime.

Sometimes these past few years, I think some of the top MAC programs have been getting some benefit of doubt because of our gaudy records.
But I really think the Falcons were better this year than Pittsburgh.

Toledo should have gotten MORE votes in my view. I would not have wanted to see our bowl game if we lost Omar and PJ to injury.
It would have been an ugly loss, to be sure.
My Top Five (not that this has any weight):
California Directional School
Redish Brown
Yoots
Tay-has
OU (yes, I know OU beat Tay-Has but that was almost three months ago.)
I would have taken Pitt out of the top 25 and replaced them with either NIU or BG. UT should have then gotten more votes than Pitt.

But shouldn't Oklahoma be second? If the BCS is matching up the two best teams in the country, then it is inevitable that one of the two teams has to lose. But since this system told us that Oklahoma was one of the top two teams in the country based on how the season played out, why would they still not be second now? Just because that lost to the best team? If the BCS is accurate, you would say that Auburn would have lost to USC by an even bigger margin. Thusly, Oklahoma should still be #2 :shrug:BGSUfanatUT wrote:Oklahoma stays 3rd?
My point is that if they are not # 2 in the final poll, then it just adds weight to Auburn and Utah's arguement that the BCS is crap. If their model tells us who the two best teams are, why are they still not the two best teams after they play each other? To me, putting Auburn ahead of Oklahoma now is like admitting the pollsters made a mistake and Auburn should have been playing in the championship game. Just my opinion, but this is what happens in the polls all throughout the year.

Good point. I was thinking the same thing. However, the BCS is not the same thing as the AP and Coaches polls. Hence, in the minds of the "BCS powers that be," they may still rank OU as #2. It's the minds of reporters and coaches that change after a blowout like this, which of course would alter the BCS standings. Fortunetly for the BCS, they don't release a new poll, they just crown their so-called champion and move on. Never addressing whether Auburn or OU are now #2.Warthog wrote:But shouldn't Oklahoma be second? Every year Florida gets ranked based on the talent they have on the field. If they actually got ranked by their performances on the field they would be no where to be seen. It is BS.bgsuman wrote:FLORIDA WITH 5 LOSSES in the TOP 25?
Is this a joke or what??????? FLorida always is the highest ranked, most losses team.
Toledo should have been ranked ahead of both of us (BG and NIU) having beaten us both. NIU having beaten BG (remember that game) should have been ranked ahead of BG. I guess the voters failed to look at those games. I could never make sense of polls. The voters do not see the teams play so how can they make a true judgement. Forget the polls. Do it on the field. BCS (aka BS)
Just because a team beat another one does not mean they should be ranked ahead of them. That is like saying Notre Dame should be ranked higher than Michigan because they beat them this season. NIU and BGSU both won their bowl games, UT got pasted.NIUBro wrote:Toledo should have been ranked ahead of both of us (BG and NIU) having beaten us both. Florida each and every year gets a freaking bogus ranking and it drives me up the wall. They are the single most overrated team in that state. What is there bowl record in the past ten or so years? Yeah I don't have the stats but it's not good.kdog27 wrote:Every year Florida gets ranked based on the talent they have on the field.
