Re: Jen Roos on the radar?
This might turn out to be a long term positive for BG.
She is the obvious successor to Curt Miller in the unimaginably unfotunate event he ever takes another job but would step in with no head coaching experience under the present arrangement. This will give her a chance to prove she can run a program on her own and establish a track record as a head coach.
A concern would be if she took Brandi or Kevin along with her in a similar "Associate Head Coach" type of role like she had at BG.

I certainly hope that Roos doesn't leave us as I feel our coaching staff continuity has given us a advantage over all the other Mac programs to date. I do have this feeling like Kate could be headed to BG's sideline sometime in the not too distant future. Especially the way she's been hanging around NW Ohio lately since giving up playing pro overseas.JoeFalcon wrote:This might turn out to be a long term positive for BG.

Geez... I first heard about this over a month ago... either Davidson moves REALLY slowly, or she wasn't the right candidate.
I don't think we should expect our really talented assistant coaches to stick around here forever. My guess is that 95% of assistants have aspirations to become head coaches. It's my hope that they should ALL find the head coaching job of their dreams and move on when the time comes.
I'd love to see Ali Mann back on the sidelines should a move happen...

Being enrolled in graduate school has a way of making you stay close to the university - I think it has something to do with ATTENDANCE at class.Falconboy wrote:I do have this feeling like Kate could be headed to BG's sideline sometime in the not too distant future. BasketballScoop.com is reporting that Davidson has offered their head coach position to an assistant from Tulane.

It looks like the "team" may stay intact.

Re: Jen Roos on the radar?
I was told that Kate applied for the open assistant's job at Toledo last year. Now that would have been interesting.Falconboy wrote:I certainly hope that Roos doesn't leave us as I feel our coaching staff continuity has given us a advantage over all the other Mac programs to date. Re: Jen Roos on the radar?
Davidson named Tulane assistant (and former Toledo assistant) Michele Savage their new head coach.

You have to wonder how committed they are to a successful women's program when they go 2 months without a head coach in the middle of AAU/scouting/recruiting season. Also heard that the school only allows 13 of their 15 possible scholarships to be used. Alma Mater or not, Coach Roos may be better of having not gotten this gig.
