Thought I would post this photo of Minnesota State's Taylor Center that has a similar arena layout to Stroh. Seats 4,800.

Sweet! It looks like some of the innards are starting to take shape. And it looks like a couple of elevator's or something are now present in the two corners and the stringers for the bleachers are going up!

Too bad Minnesota State didn't have facilities like that for football. Hayden Fox and Luth would have been able to build a program!! :P

One thing that it kind of bothering me is that when you are heading West on Wooster from I-75, the trees at the main entrance to the Doyt driveway are just tall enough to basically obscure the whole building. I'm afraid that they will also cover up the view of the Falcon statue as well as the plaza.

Does anyone know if there are any plans to "relocate" these trees to provide a more striking view of the place? It is the first impression that many folks visiting the campus will have after all, so imagine that. Trees actually causing a dilemma on the BG campus

Relocate the only half dozen trees on that end of campus. Eventually the Arbor Day people will protest.
I proudly chose to be a Falcon and a Falcon I will remain until the end.

Relocate the trees?! That just made me LOL! God I hope not! The fact we have any trees blocking anything on our wind-swept campus isn't a problem at all IMO. Heck, it seems like half of the trees we did have on campus had to be cut down because of the damn emerald ash borer. Remember how nice and wooded the green in front of Anderson Arena and the library used to look? Not anymore. For years one of the "first impressions" I have heard so many people knock BG for is its lack of trees. The last thing I would want to see happen is for more to be removed to better see a building, even if it's a new one. They actually had to clear a bunch of trees out of the parking lot islands to even build this place from the start. For a striking view, people can go up to it or in it when it's finished. It's not like it's sitting in the middle of a forest.
GO BG!!!

You certainly realize you can remove and replant trees don't you?

Even with seeing it every day, it is hard to believe it is really getting built after all of these years. And my own are far fewer than many.

That wasn't what I was laughing about. I was laughing at the idea of one, trees at BGSU blocking anything, and two, the idea of actually "removing or replanting" trees to better see a building.

I hear ya brother! I remember actually looking at blueprints of a proposed arena in Jim Larranaga's office back in about 1995. It was one of a much larger scale, but none the less, it always seemed like talk. Players on the team were coming up with nicknames for the arena. Antonio Daniels suggested "The Nest." I can't wait until it's finished and to see a game in the place.
GO BG!!!
