Wish I could but the Mrs and I are heading to Sanibel Island the first full week of Sept. Gotta make up for last fall's crap.

It looks like the only road games possible this fall are Ohio and tsun. All depends on my work sked. But I am GEEKED for Falcon Football!!!

It's not the fall that hurts...it's when you hit the ground.

It is quite a haul for most of you but I am glad some Falcon football will be played in the South this year.

I hope some of you can make it down and enjoy some nice 90 degree weather with 60% humidity. We owe you one anyway.

This sounds like a pretty good idea. I might consider it as well. I recommend renting a cabin. If you do, make sure to book as far in advance as possible. Those things fill up fast from what I remember.

I think the only roadie I'll be making it to is Ann Arbor. I am pumped to peep a building as historic as the Big House. Oh, I cannot WAIT for Falcon Football!!!

I was there the last time BG played there. I must say it is the worst place I've ever watched a football game in my life. Just a terrible stadium, IMO. They've since done a lot of work to it though, so hopefully your experience will be better than mine. I also hope you see a FAAAARRRR better game than what I did watching Navarre & Terrell light up a VERY inexperienced BG secondary.

Yeah not to spoil your excitement but the 2 games I have been to at the Big House were both lame and one of them featured both teams ranked in the top ten. The atmosphere just isn't what you would expect. Maybe it will be better after the remodeling they have been working on the last couple few years though.

TULSA: I am planning to attend. I got a good rate at the Homewood Suites-Tulsa South ($89/night). If you get there, go to Spudder. Very nice steakhouse! Tulsa actually is not a bad town. However, it will be miserably hot Labor Day Weekend.

BIG HOUSE: overrated. I have been to ND and Ohio State games there. The atmosphere is dull, and not very exciting. The crowd rarely gets very loud, and sustained cheers are non-existent. That's why you never hear the announcers talk about the crowd noise affecting opposing teams. The student section is very small and in one corner of the stadium. The renovations were an improvement. The luxury boxes will be done this year, and about 3/4 of them are sold.

BOTTOM LINE: The Big House is not a great game-day experience. The success that UM had (under Bo and Lloyd) was due entirely to the players on the field, and not the fans in the seats.

Have to agree with the others on the BiG House. BORING beyond belief. I talked to some UM fans there in 2000 when BG played and they even said if it isn't Ohio State or Michigan State, it is a lame atmosphere. As much as I can't stand Ohio State, I gotta admit their gameday atmosphere is crazy. And in Ann Arbor, your seat is about 15 inches...if that. Be ready to sit sideways.

I won't have the jack anyway with a trip to FLA two weeks before that game but will be happy to see BG beat UM on the tube. :D

I probably won't be making many road trips this year either for money/vacation time reasons. Hopefully I'll be able to get to one road game and at least 1 in BG, but who knows.

Am I the only person here who actually likes the Big House atmosphere? Something about it is just so classy. I've been to quite a few Michigan games and have always enjoyed the game day atmosphere and the stadium itself.
