BG faces CMU and Kent will take on EMU again...the winners meet in the title game. BG/CMU start at 11:30 with KSU/EMU following 45 min after the BG game.

In baseball, is the first round of the NCAA tournament considered The College World Series or does it not receive that moniker until the last few rounds? When was the last time the Falcons made it to the NCAA Tourney in baseball?

Not a good day so far for BG...CMU leads 5-1 going into the bottom of the 6th. Jon Berti got the Falcons on the board ripping an RBI triple but BG stranded 2.

Vdub, I believe the last time BG went to the NCAAs was 1999. Not sure how many teams make the actual CWS.

******UPDATE******** BG scores FIVE in the top of the 8th and now leads 8-5!!!!!

OMG....CMU has scored one in the bottom of the 9th and has the bases loaded with NOBODY out.

You never wanna second guess a coaches decision but I'm curious if O'brien would have been more comfortable getting the ball to start the bottom of the ninth instead of coming into Gerdeman's jam... Ross was pitching well so I understand why Schmitz stayed with him, but you almost wonder if O'brien would have been better off starting in the wind-up instead of having to throw from the stretch right away.

Great run by the boys to hang 8 on the Chips in just 3 innings.

Sad to see it end like that, but these guys have nothing to be ashamed of, they competed right to the end.

Just got back. Very, very tough way to lose. I thought we had them up 3 needing just three outs...but honestly, unless it's women's basketball, it seems like BG struggles to win any type of MAC Tournament. We just always seems to come up short in them aside from women's hoops anymore.
