BG beat Penn State 22-12 in their first game. They'll face OSU at 1:00pm tomorrow and Utah at 3:30pm with that game being carried on Universal HD.

And we lose to Utah 14-10 in the last 30 seconds... we were the first game to air on the broadcast!! We drop to 1-2, which I assume means we are done for the tournament. Still, it's exciting to see BGSU and our rugby program get this kind of great national exposure!

OSU won 12-0... not scoring against OSU practically kills any chance of playing for the championship... Penn State has to win against OSU by 9 for BG to advance

Dang....that sux. I hope to still catch some of the game today. I am in Day 5 of 7 straight nights at work from 10pm-9am so I gotta get sleep sometime.

It was a fun event. We went down for the two games yesterday and had a great time. BG had a VERY nice crowd, close if not equal to the OSU crowd!

I'm not sure how I feel about the sevens format... It seems to me that the small teams and short matches favor lucky underdogs who would get smashed in a normal 80-minute fifteens match... like OSU against us

On the other hand, the sevens format is extremely fast and exciting, and particularly well-suited to the American TV audience. Definitely a fun way to watch the game. I'm just not sure it accurately portrays the capabilities of each team.

BG came back on Sunday to beat Army, Indiana and then Arizona State and win the consolation round, thus finishing THIRD in this very prestigious tournament!!!

Indeed! Very impressive showing for a very impressive club. Rocco Mauer was the tournament's leading scorer and Tourney MVP.
