Maybe I'm counting wrong, but I count 36 games on the schedule. We have the Alaska exemption this year. Plus, I believe we're allowed two exhibition games as well. When is the first "official" practice allowed?
i apologize for that I am using our Imac DVD...very old as I had some updates being done on the new primary cpu, and did not double check my post... your right its 36.
We are however only allowed 36 regular season contest, no exhibitions. Miami has 35 games scheduled including one exhibition against waterloo(JST's brothers team. The Black Bears have a full schedual at 36 games, as well. The Deal if you remember when Unice was looking to come was that at BG he would play less than in the OHL which has I beleive 90 reg season games.

I think (hope?) I'm missing the sarcasm but the OHL plays 68 regular season games. Although, considering how his junior career went I think he would have ended up playing more games here.

Im sorry your right about reg season, being 68,, I just counted all the games on the Kitchner schedule and including 4 exibition games the total 92 games played this last season. As for Unice all I can say is he earned 90k for college and is now playing at that school in Canada...I dont know the level but he made out all right.
I was curious who are potential opponents might be at the two tournaments this year. RPI's website says: RPI, BG, Ala-Hunts and UConn. UConn's website still listing last year's contestants.
At any rate I think playing those tourneys will be more benifical than playing exibition games, all though I have enjoyed playing against Wilfred Laurie, a good team.
Not wanting to get picky, but I think Miami will be playing thr University of Waterloo, from Waterloo, Ont.
JST's brother is at UHL Waterloo. Good sized kid for a 17 year old.
Brothers Newton, Brothers Bylsma works for me.
Paul Titanic's kid David looks pretty good also, I think Markham, Ont.

Don't forget the Holzingers.

I didn't find anything on the CCHA web site about clusters. We play our "rivalry partner," ND, four times as usual. We also play Northern and "rivalry partner" Lake State four times each, so I guess the four teams are in a cluster. I supposed the cluster system is broken, buy maybe only for Alaska and whomever is in Alaska's cluster. Thots?

I think that they should have let Alabama Huntsville into the CCHA. That would have solved the odd number issue we have now.

Due to Nebraska-Omaha departing the conference for the Western Collegiate Hockey Association (WCHA), CCHA cluster play has expanded to include five-team pairings for the regular season
not really sure how it works like that, but thats all I could find

With BG and WMU's situations becoming more stable UAH could probably re-apply next year. It's not a stretch to say UAH not being in the CCHA is because of BG.

No doubt in my mind that the possibility of losing the Falcon program had a LOT to do with the CCHA's decision to not admit UAH. I hope they re-apply. We need an even number in the league.
