The Future of Baseball Starts Tonight

That's right, Stephen Strasburg will either save or ruin the Nationals, tonight, against the Pirates! Here are my thoughts...

Enjoy!

Harper might be a better prospect than Strasburg. He's been the best of the best at every level he's ever played at. That includes this year playing Juco ball against a bunch of kids that are a few years older than he is.

Oh yeah, you talk about his power without a wooden bat? FYI, the juco league he played in this year (and hit 31 HRs) was a wood bat league.

The kid is, essentially, god's gift to baseball. The Nationals have been luckier than any team, I can ever remember. To get the #1 pick in back to back years and then have 2 guys that were more than worth those picks available to them. I have a feeling they'll get Harper signed and get him playing some ball this summer. I'll be interested to see how he does.

It is a little weird to see them already saying he's not going to catch. They want him to concentrate purely on offense. With a bat of his potential, that's probably just as well. You don't want your best bat to be risking injury behind the plate anyhow. The Twins should be thinking about that everytime they trot Mauer out to catch.

I'm excited to see his MLB debut in in a week and a half.

As overwrought as the "hype machine'" was for this kid...with 14 K's, he might have exceeded expectations.. :-)
It's not the fall that hurts...it's when you hit the ground.

He would have had a hit in his first MBL AB if he would have run half speed. He was impressive, but it was in fact the Pirates.
