I was over at the hockey office a few weeks ago.
Chris introduced Ryan. Barry took him out to lunch.
Remember the discussion about the high quality of hockey players,
this young man must have had a hot dog in one back pocket and piece of apple pie in the
other pocket. I realize that is a gooey analogy, but you get the the idea.

Welcome to family Ryan.

Speaking of recruiting:

GO HOCKEY!!! :supz:
"Regarding BGSU, I would think their biggest strength is that they never give up, They never slow down and they battle hard even after the other team scores. We have to be on our game and never, ever take the foot off the gas for a second."
~~USCHO Poster
"BG was relentless. It's like they know that a good first pass on the breakout from a defenseman will almost always result in an odd-man rush against them - but they go in anyway and dare you to make that pass. All three of their goals were just grit and effort. That's a team any fan can be proud to support...they give all they've got."

ITs going to be an interesting recruiting year, since we only need to pick up 4 for next season. I am hopeful that this staff goes after "futures" meaning guys for 2012 and 2013 this year and locks them up early, esp since with all energy around this program there is no reason why they can not lock up futures.

Sounds like we "stole" him from Miami. Love his confidence and that 3.8 GPA. I'm dreaming of a pairing with him and JST. Wojtala's playmaking and JST's hands could be something pretty special.

You could also say this by mentioning tubed meat in one back pocket and delicious early fall dessert in his other.

Nice article and i agree sounds like a solid young man.

Will BGSU do an artcle on all the incoming players?
Would be nice to know what else we have arriving this year. While CB may have inherited the recruits, the scouting reports on many of these players are quite strong. Sumison, Williamson and Zacharias were at the top of their leagues all year and it would be nice to hear what kind of game these players will bring. Is it speed, size, scoring, defensive d-men, offensive? 8-[

The Sentinel had previously reported that Rob Krohl, the head coach of the Michigan Honeybaked Junior Hockey team, had been hired on the hockey staff.

Carpenter played for Honeybaked before going to the USHL.

I might be baked right now but that's still a fairly interesting connection.
