OUCH!!!

Post by Redwingtom »

I caught the tail end of that Simpson performance and frankly Marge could have done better.

That was the most god-awful sounding thing I have ever heard.

The booing was justified...BIG TIME!!!

It kind of made Roseanne Barr's National Anthem sound good.

It wasn't just her...Kelly Clarkson, that American Idol chick, and some country dude sang, too. I think something was wrong with the microphones cause when Kelly came out first, she was moving her lips and there was no sound. I was laughing pretty hard and figured they all were going to lip sync and someone forgot to roll the actual soundtrack for them :D I really hope that was the reason because all three of them were not ready to sing and sounded terrible. The booing was hilarious!!

I also enjoyed the boo-birds... Why do people consistantly book Ashlee Simpson after the SNL gig. She was a co-host for New Years Eve as well....

I don't think it was Toby keith that sang, I think he was just there to watch OU get slammed.
So, it was just some country dude in the halftime show.

The guy performing was Trace Adkins. If it was Toby Keith, I would have liked to see his song Who's Your Daddy performed because it has to be the funniest country song I've ever heard. Who's your daddy and country music just don't mix!

Also, I found some humor after I clicked on Ashlee Simpson's name on the left. "Last year pop diva Jessica Simpson was the headliner, and this year her sister Ashlee will be part of the greatest pool of talent ever assembled for any halftime show in the history of college football." If that was the greatest pool of talent ever assembled during a college football halftime show, they can only get better from now on!

it was Trace Adkins.

Toby Keith would have pummeled Ashlee for that performance.

That's right - Trace Adkins. I saw him the other morning on Cold Pizza with that cute chic (and the USC cheerleaders).

Here's an article you might enjoy reading. Someone posted on the MAC board. Pretty funny stuff.

"Regarding BGSU, I would think their biggest strength is that they never give up, They never slow down and they battle hard even after the other team scores. We have to be on our game and never, ever take the foot off the gas for a second."

"BG was relentless. It's like they know that a good first pass on the breakout from a defenseman will almost always result in an odd-man rush against them - but they go in anyway and dare you to make that pass. All three of their goals were just grit and effort. That's a team any fan can be proud to support...they give all they've got."

It was awesome. Before halftime I was complaining to my dad about all these stupid Big-Game Halftime shows. I predicted some tame pop artist, then some country guy, along with 1,000 High School-aged cheerleaders on the field, followed by some patriotic crap. Low and behold, I was dead on, and the addition of Ashlee Simpson was an added "treat." I agree, the booing was hilarious, and much deserved. Jeff
