I was unsure of his intent, until he reached out his hand, and said, "Y'all shamed us". I assured him his Wildcats had lost to a pretty good team, even though SEC folk didn't know much about BG. This team definitely proved me to be a prophet.
Kentucky came into that season with very high expectations. The Wildcats went 9-3 in 1984 beating Wisconsin in the '84 Hall of Fame Bowl and came into 1985 ranked #19 in the preseason poll. This was HUGE upset for us and really opened a lot of eyes.

MAC football did not get alot of coverage then, and this season gave us a lot of exposure.

First home game, 7 o'clock start and all day to tailgate...I say the turnout will be higher...IF the weather cooperates!!!
"Regarding BGSU, I would think their biggest strength is that they never give up, They never slow down and they battle hard even after the other team scores. We have to be on our game and never, ever take the foot off the gas for a second."

"BG was relentless. It's like they know that a good first pass on the breakout from a defenseman will almost always result in an odd-man rush against them - but they go in anyway and dare you to make that pass. All three of their goals were just grit and effort. That's a team any fan can be proud to support...they give all they've got."

9/18: OU-OSU & UMass-Mich are both at noon. ND is in East Lansing at 8pm on ABC.

Absent rain, I think (hope) the turnout will be high. (I know those that turn out will be high).

What she said....and temps should be nicer than late Aug/early Sept. We get good weather and I can see 20,000+. Marshall will bring a few thousand fans...they always travel well.

GO FALCONS!!! 41 days til kickoff...

Unforgettable is right...watching people scramble back into DLP Stadium from the top of the West stands was priceless. So many folks left thinking the game was over... The Miami game and the 21-0 whitewash of tsun in front of 28,000+ to clinch the title were the best. Those were the only two games I got to in '85 and so well worth it.

GO BG!
