3rd in the Nation!

Post by Sidejudge »

Just announced by the Athletic Department that this year's BG Football Poster ranks third out of 50 Division 1 posters.

You have to give props to the AD and Marketing Office for this outstanding effort. It's one small step, and everything matters. So congrats to to those involved and keep up the great work.

I"m proudly displaying the poster on my office wall, but as someone who designs posters for a sports team I have to say- how could they have not included the year on the poster??

I do like the look of the poster and the sepia tone picture is cool and thankfully they got away from the "Grit Iron" and helmet of the previous two seasons. . . .

At any rate is good pub for the marketing department.

My all time favorite BG poster has to be QB Rich Dackin, WR Reggie Thorton (I think) and Uncle Sam/Freddie Falcon "WE WANT YOU" poster with Moe-Towns greatest hits being a close second.

Yeah! I want one too! That is sweet...the year missing is surprising to me as well.

I've heard the baseball team use the "We are...BG" slogan for the past couple years. I always thought it was cool. The AD and marketing department must have gotten the idea from them.

As posted on the Twitter page you can send an e-mail to [email protected] for more information about getting a poster.

I like the design of the poster but I have one complaint: the "We Are...BG" slogan. I think we could have been a little more creative there including using our own catchphrase, Roll Along. But, props to the marketing team for the award and any press like this is good press.

WE ARE..... BG. Sounds very similar to the 70s phrase,
"WE ARE.... MARSHALL".

Maybe we could get into a shouting war at the game in two months. Let's just not do the chest and fist pump!

I agree. "WE ARE (INSERT UNIVERSITY INITIALS AND/OR NICKNAME HERE)!" has become pretty overused around college athletics, IMO. Though I suppose if everyone and their brother is using it, why not join in? On the other hand, "Roll Along" is such a unique and kickazz phrase for BGSU, I'd love to see that used more.

Besides, wasn't it "Roll Along" that the university was trying to push as an "official greeting to other Falcon fans" a couple years ago?

Still, great work on the poster & recognition that came with it!

This new poster kicks tail feathers...period. If ya go to the Fall Sports kickoff event, they should have a whole table full of these. I plan on picking up a few...
