TMD's 2010 MAC Football Preview

Post by psc2009 »

We're expecting a tougher year for BG this season (4th in the East), but it wouldn't be stunning to see them get to 7-5. Coach Clawson said it best, every team has losses, but you can still succeed if you've got depth.

Temple beats Toledo 24-10 in the championship game.

Doesn't it seem like the balance of the conference has shifted over the past two years? We used to post about the west's dominace over the east, and now it seems like things have changed.

I'm with you there, Freak. NIU is my favorite in the west but number two is easily Ball State. BSU could surprise this year. Not UT, though. Toledo's first six games are really tough ...
Arizona
@Ohio (East contender)
@WMU (West contender)
@Purdue
Wyoming (reigning bowl champ, star QB is a soph)
@Boise

Toledo could realistically start 0-6. I'm not predicting this to happening, just pointing out that it's a realistic possibility. They'll probably get absolutely destroyed by Arizona, but also get physically beat up and that's going to affect play against WMU and Ohio, both on the road. At Purdue for likely another beat down, then home against a good Wyoming team, then at Boise for a slaughter. It could be an ugly start for TSUN and would kill any of their current hype.

My point was that if Toledo is the best the west has to offer, then the west don't have much. I'm not buying the hype about Toledo either.

Toledo?....no...that defense will be horrific and I'm not sure they have the "guy" at QB to get them by NIU...
It's not the fall that hurts...it's when you hit the ground.

Granted, this was before the Beckman error...but there have been several years that i didn't think Toledo had what it took to beat NIU, and yet they did just the same. For some reason NIU seems to struggle against the rockets.
