I'm a big fan of the grass medians. . . .

With the condensing of all the parking, and people, I sure hope they re-think their port-o-let placement. Although, with the Visitor Booth thing the females have to like the opportunity of using a cleaner toilet!
Yeah, sure thing man.

Next time I run into town I'll take my camera and try to do some recon. I honestly haven't been in those lots in awhile, so I'm not sure what they look like nowadays. I used to tailgate over there by the base of the overpass, before I started hanging out with the AZZ crew, and it was a pretty nice area.

They've taken out the cement curbs on all the islands. Not sure if they intend to level out the area or not, as they only just finished loading the cement onto trucks. Lots of topsoil coming. Clearly not going to be able to sustain traffic this year in any case.

I think one year of inconvenient parking is not too high a price to pay for getting rid of the massive eye-sore the old lots were.

No, it's the camper (plus the truck) length that makes it difficult to maneuver it all around. Once other campers or cars are there, it's difficult to get it "placed" where we want. And there are ALWAYS people who bring in their campers the night before. The sooner we get ours in there, the better. Coming the night before solves the problem. I don't mind having to pay the overnight fee, but being limited to that one lot kind of sucks. Unfortunately, I picture only campers in that lot.

All things considered, it only effects us the first two home games. We can't bring the camper after Oct 15 since we would have no place to go "dump" afterwards. We always go out to the Fire Lake Campground to dump on Sunday and they close for the season on the 15th. If anyone knows of anywhere near BG that has a dump station open later than that, LET ME KNOW!!! It's something that has frustrated us for a while now! :?

It's like they know that a good first pass on the breakout from a defenseman will almost always result in an odd-man rush against them - but they go in anyway and dare you to make that pass. All three of their goals were just grit and effort. That's a team any fan can be proud to support...they give all they've got."

Sadly in this case, Toledo is not near enough I'm certain.

There "SHOULD" be one at the city waste facility, but I don't know that there is one.

Someone had mentioned that there was one there, but when I called a few years ago, I couldn't get a straight answer. Maybe time to call again and see if there IS one!

Some more info from the SID's office on this whole parking situation:

Greg Christopher will be discussing this on this week's "Ask the AD" on bgsufalcons.com in a couple days.

Also,

This is a University project, not an Athletics project. One trumps the other, I'll let you guess which one.... remember, we're NOT a BCS school. ;-)

Regardless of when the project was started, it would have taken the lots out of commission for at least one football season. No avoiding it. And having personally worked directly under the former chair of the botany and horticulture department at BGSU for 9 years... I can say that fall is the best time to sow grass. ;-)

Are they just going to plant grass on the exist pattern, or do we know if they plan to add some trees, or break-up the old layout? I recall an earlier Master Plan drawing that showed lots of curves and such, to break-up the existing layout.
