Captured: America in Color from 1939 to 1943.

Some really neat pics.

A search through the site will show a number of "plogs" (picture blogs) that are really neat!
"Regarding BGSU, I would think their biggest strength is that they never give up, They never slow down and they battle hard even after the other team scores. We have to be on our game and never, ever take the foot off the gas for a second."

"BG was relentless. It's like they know that a good first pass on the breakout from a defenseman will almost always result in an odd-man rush against them - but they go in anyway and dare you to make that pass. All three of their goals were just grit and effort. That's a team any fan can be proud to support...they give all they've got."

Those color photos are amazing. The fact that they have retained their vividness is extremely unusual.

We should post our own photos from that era.

While not in color..... this is my father probably about 1938-39 dressed up to visit Aunt Minnie. One of the few photos of my father not smiling. The 1930's saw an explosion in amateur photography.

Amazing photos. My favorite is easily the last one with the gent working the carbon plants in TX.

These have kept their clarity because they are reproductions of slides which were likely printed on glass.

Thanks for sharing. Loved every image.
