Starting QB

Post by griigunn »

Does anyone know the QB depth chart? I probably could watch the daily updates on bgsufalcons.com, but I'm too lazy and I figure that you fine people must know something.

I read where Schilz has the lead right now after spring ball into fall camp with Pagel and Pankratz right behind. Schilz had quite a career in HS (CA) and this was from his bio on the official site:

"Ranked as the fifth-highest quarterback recruit going to a non-BCS school ... ranked as a top-100 player in the state of California.

Should be a heck of a race...all these guys are SO or FR.

Hope this is all updated...I haven't been on in few days so I know someone else will have more updated info. The official site has updates every day with video footage and previews at each unit.

Here's Coach Clawson's view of the QB's early on from the official site:

What's rather interesting to me is that I've heard nothing about PA freshman Trent Hurley. I figured he'd be in the mix as well. Clawson maybe thinking of redshirting him?

Fellas- you have to follow the updates! All this and more is talked about by Coach Clawson!

He said that the competition for #2 is pretty tough right now(my words). He did mention Trent Hurley in glowing terms and felt that he was really grasping the offense well and had a "live arm." Schilz (sp?) would start if the Troy game was tomorrow, but he wasn't going to name 1's and 2's quite yet!

Well I haven't seen or heard of any quotes by Clawson praising Hurley, but I've only read the recent articles that the Toledo Blah has done and on bgsufalcons.com

There have been video updates everyday, except the last day, I think. That is where I get the information from. Sidearm sports from BGSUfalcons.com. Right from the coach! They have been great and very interesting. Best part- it's not filtered through any reporters.

In his last one he mentioned that Jordan Hopgood is in the mix for the backup tailback position. Does this mean that Hopgood has been pulled from receiver? If so, man our depth there must really be good.

I think we have great depth at WR and that is what is going on....

Not to go all Andy Rooney, but what's the deal with John Pettigrew? He was listed on the last depth chart as the top backup along with Geiger. Injury issue possibly?

(Also, speaking of practice reports, bgsufalcons.com had a 5+ minute video of the Thursday scrimmage posted and next day the video was gone. One too many IP addresses from Bama pop up?)
